Ms. Vampy says: Acknowledge Your Father for All His Hard Work
After 100 years, I still can’t figure out men, but what I do know is that men need and love to be acknowledged for all they do, provide and work for! So let your father or man in your life know that you recognize and are grateful for all he has done to keep your family afloat and happy.
Dr. Gash says: As a father and a man myself, I can attest to the fact that Ms. Vampy is 100 percent right on the nose with this one. A little appreciation goes a long way. Don't be an...

When she's not working as one of our favorite scream queens, Ms. Vampy herself, Brooke Lewis, has an alter-ego, that of advice columnist for Huffington Post. For Valentine's Day we took some of her dating tips and horrified them up a bit.
Lewis is the author of the popular column Ask the Drama Queen, and she recently appeared on "San Diego Living" to give some tips to help people get the most out of their dates, be it with a new person or their spouse or longtime partner.
Even we bloodthirsty beasts at Dread Central can appreciate a good love story (as long as someone's heart is ripped out at the end) so we thought we'd share some of Brooke's dating tips and explain them in a way we all understand.

“Allow me to introduce you to three passionate, obsessed artists - each haunted by their own creations…” So begins Self-Portraits, a new short film by Staci Layne Wilson.
You may have noticed Staci's name on the site recently as she's joined us to handle reviews, interviews, set visits, and more; but she's also an accomplished author and filmmaker in her own right. And a lot of her work involves the number "3."
For instance, Self-Portraits examines a moment in the lives of three brilliant, troubled artists – Leonor (Diane Ayala Goldner), Egon (Andrew McGee), and Louis (James R. Petix) – and explores the fever dreams they endure in alternate realities. The film will debut in late December, and a companion novella will be released in February 2014.
Also being released in its entirely in late December, and in novella form as well, is Keepsakes – another triptych of terrifying tales. This one is about people who are not just hoarders…...

This writer is imploring you, our tightly-knit horror community, as we approach October – our month of months – to unite for a good cause: supporting Los Angeles women battling breast cancer by contributing to the Bowling for Boobies campaign.
For the past several years I've been involved directly with Bowling for Boobies (a non-profit fundraiser which provides monetary assistance to L.A. women who are experiencing financial challenges as the result of fighting and living with breast cancer). It's been a vastly rewarding experience as donations go directly to someone struggling with this deadly disease.
This year we're at it again with the 8th Annual Bowling for Boobies, which culminates on Sunday, October 21st, in Los Angeles at Jillian’s Hi-Life at Universal City Walk with a red carpet followed by an evening of knocking down some pins with The Horror Starlets bowling team, which is comprised this year of myself...

Indie Horror Month may be winding down, but that doesn't mean our love for and support of indie filmmakers is going anywhere, and one such project we're keeping an eye on is Dave Reda's new short film Love Potion #8. Read on for a casting update and the first bit of artwork.
As Reda told us previously, "[It's] the story of a guy who is of course a total flop with chicks so he goes to see a gypsy who tires to give him love potion #9, but it's a bit too expensive for him. So while she is in the back looking for something cheaper, he decides to steal love potion #8. Horrible things ensue..."
Dave co-wrote the script with Jon Rosenberg and will direct. Cast members signed on so far include Brooke Lewis (Ms. Vampy, Slime City Massacre), Jessica Cameron (who will also appear in Reda's upcoming feature Shadow), Kelli Maroney (Night of the Comet,...

This writer and Dread Central's The Horror Starlets took part this past Sunday, October 23rd, in the seventh annual non-profit Bowling for Boobies Los Angeles breast cancer charity event, and we wish to thank those in the horror community and beyond who so generously donated to this wonderful cause. We couldn’t do it every year without you!
Culminating at Jillian’s Hi-Life at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles, California, with a pink carpet, a night of bowling, and the paparazzi snapping away (see our photo gallery by Geza Decsy below), the charity - run by founder Stephanie Lahart of the Busted Foundation - raised over $100,000 with our team (who received an award this year for ‘Biggest Balls’ for ‘Most Money Raised the Fastest’) contributing nearly $14K of that total. As they do each year, the proceeds will directly benefit local Los Angeles women battling breast cancer.

We'll be conducting a brief interview with Scream Queen Brooke Lewis in the days to come; I thought I might prep readers for a taste of what's in store. As one of the industries most recognizable Queens, I thought it would be a perfect time to introduce the masses to her intriguing web-series, "Ms. Vampy's Tween Talk, Teen Talk & In Between Talk" (which we'll be briefly discussing in our exclusive interview). The show affords young ladies the c…...

The last time we caught up with actress/producer Brooke Lewis, she was focusing on the feature film adaptation of her popular "Ms. Vampy" web series called Vamp it Out. Due to fan demand Lewis has decided to release a brand new web series in the meantime called "Ms. Vampy's Tween Tawk, Teen Tawk & In Between Tawk.”
According to the official announcement from Philly Chick Pictures, Ms. Vampy is back to continue to inspire tween and teen girls in a "tawk" show format which covers issues that these girls are faced with today. This latest web series will also serve as a prelude to the movie, which Lewis has been busy prepping for over the last several months.

When I first met actress and producer Brooke Lewis in 2009, she struck me as someone who has an unmatched passion and enthusiasm for the horror genre. It was her passion for both acting and producing that made it easy for her to be embraced very quickly by the genre community, which has even dubbed her with the beloved title of “Scream Queen.”
Recently, in honor of Dread Central’s Indie Horror Month celebration, we caught up with Lewis to get a look into the life of a “Scream Queen” who has made quite a name for herself both in front of the camera and behind the scenes in just a few short years.
There is no doubt about it; Lewis was born to entertain. As the actress explained, “I feel like I was one of those lucky ones that always knew from an early age that I wanted to be creative,...
