New team with a legacy of Gibbs
hindsonevansmike3 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
A confused start to an excellent episode which deals with the challenge of divided loyalties for citizens of the US with a recent (or even current) link to another nation state which may not be on the list of "America's best friends". Best solution - just suspend disbelief about dual-nationality and go with the flow.

Sensitively acted and well-plotted, the episode deals with the risk of citizens developing contrary vies.

Dogged investigative work finally saves the day - and the career of a good USN Petty Officer. Nice to see that Denise Crosby ("Taska Yar" from Star Trek TNG) had made it back to earth!

The legacy college funds donations by Gibbs are a nice touch for Tim and Palmer - implementing Rule 91 and cementing the view that "family is important".

GIBBS

Warning: Spoilers
With that last comment from the Director about his team having the chance to thank Gibbs in person for the monetary money for their kids scholarships makes you think Gibbs will be returning, for Good maybe.

Plothole
rguilliams16 January 2022
Major plothole with this episode. Nazir has dual citizenship in the US and Afghanistan. He also has Top Secret clearance. Problem is, you can't hold a Top Secret clearance with the US government if you hold dual citizenship. You have to guve up the citizenship in any other country in order to be granted a TS clearance.

What happened to the writing?

I've watched NCIS since it's inception, but as much as I love most of the cast, the storylines just aren't up to par anymore. And this episode -- trying to pass of a 43 yr old actress as a 29 yr old -- is just another implausible problem with the "new" NCIS. I never thought I'd give any NCIS episode a low score, but this just isn't the powerhouse NCIS that it once was.

So many plot holes it's embarrassing
doujyr4 January 2022
A manhunt of such an important nature but only 3 agents at the restaurant? Leaving the Embassy with no armed escort? Totally unbelievable, but nothing new there. Sadly I think this show is finished, it can't survive the loss of Ellie Bishop and GIbbs.

Another plot hole to consider...

Warning: Spoilers
At the conclusion, Nazar states he fled when tipped by a fellow pilot about the raid, and nobody reacts! Wouldn't they investigate the "pilot" who leaked info, thereby interfering with a military operation / investigation?

Worst episode of the series
Brandonrowe1423 March 2022
I have watched every episode of this series and this is absolutely the worst. Not even Amanda Schull (wonderful actress) can save this garbage.

Not a single thing about this episode had even a modicum of intrigue. Bad. Bad. Bad.

Pledge of Allegiance

Warning: Spoilers
I don't care about the political aspect, it was just a poor episode. Other than the brief disappearing act, very few scenes I found memorable in this NCIS episode.

Same old, same old

Warning: Spoilers
The 19th season hasn't been very impressive so far with only few episodes being quite good. "Pledge of Allegiance" is yet another lacklustre episode. It's not awful, but very forgettable agreed.

Let's start with the good.

. The production values of the episode are great. "Pledge of Allegiance" is well-directed, the music fits the scenery. The acting's fine for the most part.

. Really liked the subplot about donations to Mcgee and Palmer and how it concluded. The case is fun occasionally with some nice banter between the team members.

But...

. The mystery feels like something one has seen million times before. There is not a single surprise or a new idea in this entire script. The solution is rather obvious and the dialogue can get exposition-heavy.

Overall, a generic episode.

4/10 HK.
