Warning: Spoilers
Ray is roused from sleep when his doorbell rings. Unknown to him, Yael Koontz, his next door neighbor, who has been seeing Ray on the sly, decided she wants to have a comfortable bed in which to have sex with him. Ray's cot is not conducive to their encounters. Ray is upset by the mere idea of this unwanted gift, so he tells her to keep it.

Lenore has asked a wealthy widow to meet her in a hotel downtown where she is trying to pitch a spa in Tucson, with the promise she will be pampered. She also wants to bring the subject of selling Ray's for her sexual pleasure to her, in a subtle way. Tanya, who arrives late, is insulted by the way Lenore treats her. Tanya, visibly upset, says something to the woman that clearly upsets her. Lenore is beside herself because she had been after the lady for quite some time without any hope of ever getting her attention.

Jessica decides to go on a bowling date with Ray. She brings her family with her. Ronnie does not know how to bowl; he throws the ball in the gutter all the time. Everyone is surprised at Jessica's mother skill in making strikes every time. Jessica is also good.

Ray, who has been seeing Claire, the pregnant lady who hires him, but he feels Claire needs to make up with the husband that she has thrown out of the house. Claire feels it's none of Ray's business to keep meddling in her affairs. At the same time, Claire is willing to pay Ray a huge amount to be with him in bed.

Jessica is caught up in a little drama of her own, when she drops Darby at a spa; the girl . She is not ready for finding Darb with a bunch of heavyset young women who are making a statement about been fat and eating sweets. Jessica cannot believe her eyes and her daughter's attitude.

Tanya goes to the wealthy widow's house pretending she has a bladder problem. The woman is not too happy to see her. Tanya noticing the Christmas tree is still in the living room comes out in telling the woman what her service is all about. The woman, who obviously does not care about whatever Tanya is telling, ends up taking a gift from under the tree, giving it to the visitor. Later on, Tanya meets Lenore wearing the Lanvin sweater she got. Lenore cannot believe what Tanya tells her she did.

At the end of the episode we see Ray pushing the mattress set into the house. As he prepares to get in bed, he is finally happy to have accepted Yael's gift.

Another great installment in the second season's series. The creators, Colette Burson and Dmitry Lipkin show no signs of ever letting the viewer down. They know these characters well. David Petrarca is the guest director. The regulars do their best to give the audience a good time. Guest stars Kathryn Hahn and Roxanne Hart are impressive as Claire and the wealthy widow.

Positive vision, inspiring protagonist, interesting secondary characters, intriguing story but short format to Traci of Darkness

I had a day nightmare. I imagined that Hung had become as clueless as Californication, that Ray was as selfish and jerky as Hank. But now I'm relieved because Just the Tip was really the pilot hiding the iceberg. This season is going to be refreshing and smarter than the first one !

Indeed I already pointed out that the sex scenes were pointless at times but here the story focused more on the light side of the show, its positive vision. Ray has almost lost everything but he's not ready to give up. He's a peaceful fighter ! His attitude was even more inspiring than in the previous episode and should definitely represent the role model you need to be a better man, specially because he's only human and makes mistakes. And I hope women will see in him an insightful subject to better comprehend men. Yes, because we're complex creatures. I specially enjoyed what he told Lenore about his double life and the controversial decision he had to make at the end. Even the whole Tanya lost in Basketland arc was interesting because the matter what you think of her, we have a lot to learn from her. What she said to the client was just miserable and reveals how much some people are desperate on our beautiful planet. They feel so empty inside that the only solution they find is to fill themselves with material or libidinal assets. But it doesn't make their shell fuller, the contrary. It's not about judging them, it's about questioning the way our society works. Jessica was also featured and should grow on you even more. I'm really into her new role and find her story quite intriguing. Her relationship with her ex-husband is getting more and more exciting. I also wonder about their children because an abyss separates her from them.

So if you think Hung is all about character development and embracing happiness after the storm then I strongly recommend you to check it out ! Forget the superficial sex scenes and neverending vicious circles. The show is a meaningful roller-coaster so you better put on your seat belt and enjoy the twisted ride ! Oh Ray ! No Ray ! Oh no more Ray !
