Enjoyable

First of all ,I would like to clear one thing .This is not an edge of seat thriller but the uniqueness of this content Hooks its viewers .

In the acting department everyone has done a decent job. As usual Rajatava Dutta and Anirban Chakraborty are show stealers . Screenplay was good , editing could have been better ,bgm was decent . Drone shots of the greeneries are visual treat , colour grading is top notch . Overall a decent watch .

Very Predictable
nayeem123-196-28941517 December 2022
One example or idea serves as the foundation for the whole series, which is inadequate for so many episodes. The storyline thus gets tedious and drawn out. The Naxalite movement and Maoism seem to be strongly despised. It was inappropriately generalized. I was also hoping for some more background on the two main characters. Instead of being made up of actual people, the police force and its personnel mirrored characters from comic books. They were quite casual in their behavior. The climactic scene could be more dramatic and eventful.

Other than that, the cinematography was great. Additionally, the sound effects were extremely good.

Fantastic idea pathetic execution

Warning: Spoilers
The idea of the storyline is awesome, good acting by the veterans, pathetic script. Very good reference about the "smash sparrow" campaign, if it started so late the learned would know that it was a failure, and most of the Nakshals of Kolkata were well educated. Secondly the antagonist should have been kept a secret for first few episodes, to build up the tension. Killing 20 sparrows in the affected village, though it was explained that it would have taken a long time, then why even go to those villages?

Nice message

It is worth the while sitting through the whole series just for that monologue Kanai Das delivers in the last 10 mins of the last episode. How close to home was that!?

One man army :Rajatava Dutta
anandolodh-9628411 February 2022
The genre, murder mystery, now a days became very familiar to us. Here also murder happing but not a man. A special type of birds are being killed. If you want to watch it for turn and twist, you will be unhappy. Here not a single twist happens. Still it has the strength to keep you busy with it. Rajatava is as usual brilliant. Bengali film industry just wastes him by giving only villain roles. He can perform outstanding in every role. His assistant was also too good. I dont know him but his performance was bold. Nice color grading and good making technique which keep you attach for two hours without having any big turns in the story. If the maker read this review, I wish he should back with it's second season where there will be depth in the story with twists.

Recommended.

A Thriller with a quieted Social Commentary
SoumikBanerjee199612 February 2022
In principle, Abhirup Ghosh's "Byadh" is nothing short of a fascinating idea. It not only focuses on a delicate issue like Animal Cruelty, but it also indulges itself in various facets of Social Commentaries.

To define my impression in a single sentence; I would say, it is transient, undemanding yet very much sophisticated and refined. Mr Ghosh has been pretty stubborn about not wasting too much time on trivial stuff. He wanted to get into the business right from the opening, and such stern measures reflect in his execution as well.

Amidst many of his idealistic attributes, what always tends to impress is how methodically attentive he is when it comes to directing. From an assemblage of tempting imageries to such an incredible arrangement of Music; gotta admit, the technical aspects ooze conviction. Just goes to show, the artistic capacity this man has at his disposal.

Nevertheless, from a story perspective, as usual, there are indeed imperfections. For instance, the acting or more specifically the overall tonality of the same has largely been in line with soap opera affectations. It certainly is catered more towards the broader populace of Bengal than us (and by 'Us' I mean the more seasoned section of the audience).

If only you can look past the theatrics, you will get to experience a satisfactory outcome that had not only managed to incite the right kind of emotions but it also conjugated basic humour with cultural particularities, and that too in a simplistic manner!
