Solved through DNA in July 2022 Not a spy, not an American. Just a sad lonely, mentally ill and suicidal man whose life ended via cardiac arrest on a beach. No one in his family really knew him or where he was, so his disappearance from their lives made sense to them.
The over the top theories put forward in this episode, show no one on this show even bothered to google this case - as there has been regular updates since 2009. Doesn't bode well for the other episodes i.e. Mothman was also totally debunked long ago.
It's important to remember Occam's Razor -if you have two competing ideas to explain the same phenomenon, you should prefer the simpler one.
