Nica Noelle's ambitious LESBIAN CHRONICLES PARTS 1 & 2, running nearly 5 hours, flounders due to unresolved and red herring story lines she inserted but left hanging. A 3rd volume in the series exists, but except for the roles of Nica and Trinity Post has a new cast and story.
Nostalgia is the theme here, bringing back into prominence two stars of the past, Keisha in Part 1 and Kylie Ireland in Part 2 (I will be reviewing #2 separately). Both parts open on a personal note: Nica Noelle appears topless but wearing an attractive hat, standing in a flower garden during opening credits. She's a single mom to young Doug Farel (credited for his non-sex role), and she doesn't know what to do with the rest of her life now that her boyfriend has left.
First sex vignette concerns her friend Mae Victoria, a bosomy woman for whom Nica is a massage therapist. This enrages the jealousy of Mae's young lover Trinity Post, who (wo)-manhandles Mae in a violent sex scene after Nica leaves. Once they get into it the role-playing of "Mommy" takes over. I especially enjoyed seeing Trinity go at it, having just watched her thoroughly abused as a sub in the heterosexual porn (with BDSM theme): THE SURRENDER OF O.
Elexis Monroe. is another friend of Nica's who visits while son Doug is at home. She is taken with young pigtailed Micah Moore. They have a torrid love scene together, in which artistic license is invoked with Micah, so hesitant to indulge at first, soon exhibiting convincing knowledge of Sapphic techniques opposite lesbian icon Elexis.
Third vignette is an interesting diversion, as blonde Aubrey Addams (spelled Adams here and a Noelle favorite -see especially MY LITTLE MINX) seduces her family's house maid Anastasia Pierce, an extremely lovely actress who graduated to lesbian videos after toiling in fetish assignments. The many contrasts between the two performers (tanned vs. pale; blonde vs. brunette; breast size) add to the eroticism.
From a phone call, a subplot involving son Doug and friend Elexis is dangled for the viewer but never resolved -strictly a red herring (Doug is written out of Part 2). Nica goes to visit her (and our, the loyal porn fans) old friend Keisha, looking great at age 41. (She was my favorite Adult actress back in the mid-'80s.) Introduced in a lingering shot nude taking a shower, Keisha throws herself wholeheartedly into this role, overplaying to Nica's relatively meek other half of the equation. They have sex and in Nica's famed slow, naturalistic pace format Keisha's slow rise to orgasm is quite convincing. This scene illustrates the video's title, as Nica feels she has wasted her life up until now, but as Keisha demonstrates, perhaps lesbianism is the answer?
The major loose ends left hanging and undeveloped in Part 2 are the fate of Mae's relationship with Trinity, and the very existence of son Doug, dropped from the narrative like a hot potato, not unlike Harper Lee's elimination of Finch's son Jem in the action 20 years after followup novel to TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (though written earlier) GO SET A WATCHMAN.
