After verbally assaulting the postman, the Neanderthal finds that there is a broken lamp on the floor. His screeching, vibrating wife admits to being culpable and runs out the door. The big guy decides to fix it himself and sticks his hand in the lamps. Huge surges of electricity go through him. Soon an ambulance shows up and a doctor begins to test him. He begins a series of tests, each one more violent than the last and asking the question, "Does that hurt?" The Neanderthal shakes his head (which rattles) and says no. Eventually, the doctor sticks a knife in the side of his head, with interesting results. The final statement and the wife's reaction are quite hilarious.

Dumbland - The Doctor (2002)

*** (out of 4)

If you go through David Lynch's filmography you'll notice weird features and weird shorts. This Dumbland series is weird animation as the director takes a large, deformed man and puts him into various situations.

This third episode has the large man throwing a fit when his wife accidentally breaks a lamp. He goes to fix the lamp but it's still plugged into the wall, which leads to him getting electrocuted and a doctor being called. If you've enjoyed the first two episodes then this one here will be entertaining as well. There's certainly nothing ground-breaking to this series but it's just a nice, bizarre little short from the always fascinating Lynch. The doctor's "does this hurt" sequence is certainly the highlight.
