Writing by the legendary Mahendran was pretty good, especially in the first half.
There's some trademark Shivaji overacting. There were surprisingly large number of good comedy scenes in the first half. There was a funny reference to Bharatha Vilas in an exchange between Shivaji and KR Vijaya.
