For the Love of the Music: The Club 47 Folk Revival (2012)

Very good documentary that covers the folk music scene in New England during the late 50s when people were basically singing traditional songs. From here the documentary covers the rise of Joan Baez and other people who got their start at The Club 47 before the scene really exploded with the arrival of Bob Dylan.
Most folk music documentaries only center on Joan Baez and Bob Dylan so it was rather refreshing to find one that took a larger look at the subject. This was a really well-produced film that managed to get interviews with Baez, Taj Mahal, Jack Washington, Jonathan Taplin, Tom Rush, Banana, music historian Elijah Wald and many others as they discuss the folk music boom and its eventually fall from grace.
If you're a fan of these artists or are just curious about the folk music scene then this here is certainly a must see as the interviews are great and the film does a very good job at explaining the scene back in the day and how everything took shape. There are several musical clips as well as a detailed history of jazz musicians from the era as well as a discussion on the importance of Eric Von Schmidt.
