This anime is different from most shojo... It does great with the weird and spontaneity of the characters; specially with Yano the male lead. At the beginning Takahashi is just as refreshing in her out of the blue; but unfortunately when the plot gets more anxiously intricate she becomes more and more serious and plain... And the pace of the telling is sometimes awfully slow... Nevertheless it is something to watch; and the more-more intricate is gripping in the way it is told; not because of the events described by themselves (which are a bit too soap-opera like...) but because of the way they are depicted, the way they affect the characters and their relationship; It is very realistic; you get the feeling you are witnessing a real relationship between real people with its great amount of problems and ups and downs. Therefore its sometimes hard to watch (others funny and engaging) but correlatively interesting.

I can't believe how unpopular this series is on a English site... How often it is a manga shoujo can be republish and filmed as a movie..
I have a over 14 yrs of history watching anime/manga... Over the yrs I watched over 300 series including all genres and the most popular ones.. and yet Bokura Ga Ita is one of the most memorable series I've watched...

Masterpiece is just an amazing anime! Throughout the show I experienced mixed feelings of pain and joy that made it an even more special anime.
characters: The characters were interesting I really liked the way they built the characters no doubt did a great job with the characters I think the characters were amazing!
Animation: The animation was bad, I think it would have been better if the animation was clearer, but I paid less attention to the animation when I watched the anime. The anime was just so good it was the only thing I thought about while watching the series!
Plot: The plot was amazingly very interesting! I always wanted to know what happens after each episode. The series has always left me intrigued and interested, no doubt I loved the plot it was great!
It was a different anime that brought a different vibe. and there were episodes where I was happy and I was sad. I got what I wanted from the anime, and the episodes were interesting, an amazing must-watch anime!

Pretty bland and boring if you ask me

It's just basically just a typical boring story where a girl is falling in love with a popular guy at school. I just wanna add that the animation is so terrible that it made me sleep with boredom. The characters being rather bland made this also entirely uninteresting.
If you badly want to watch a heart-warming romance story, this is definitely not one to come across. Avoid this anime to not waste your time on.....
