- The boy's mother is killed early on when a boat slips down a mountain and runs her over. This accident is sudden and quite shocking.

- In one scene, a boy throws rocks at a "sleeping tiger" until it explodes suddenly and loudly. Although the scene is frightening, the boy does not die in the explosion.
