Money and Medicine - a necessary first discussion
gallant20517 November 2012
This documentary film contrasts of the outcomes of healthcare and costs of this care in two hospitals, one in L.A. and one in Utah. It doesn't waste too much time getting to the point of which one is cheaper. The representatives of each system explain and justify their models of care and their costs. I found it most interesting to hear those justifications on both sides, particularly as they relate to how physicians are currently paid in the US. What I got out of this was: is our system basically broken, and will it remain so until we fix the Model for payments? Whether you agree with either side of the documentary, to me what's important is the need for the public to assess these issues and bring fundamental change.

Good to see that the doctors are honest

Everyone should watch this documentary. It will change your perception on over use of modern medicine.

Even doctors won't take the same treatment they use on their patients.

The film compares treatment difference from region to region in US.

Intense lobbying and promotions by pharmaceutical industry makes us think most medications and treatments are good.

I like this quote "if you get CT scan done on yourself, you will get cancer."

It is worth watching.

You can find it on Netflix.
