fortune cookies
Kirpianuscus18 October 2023
A man. Lines contained by fortune cookies. And the their words becoming reality. Good acting, fair crafted tension, a story about a chain of events making worse the life of man and , in the moment when all seems fixed in some measure, a final cookie contain defines, in profound, dramatic manner, the existence of its finder.

A film seductive for the dose of realism and for the fair image of deep loneliness.

Intense, scene by scene, mixing the happy premises with the final tragedy, the rain of warnings and the questions of man, the skepticism of wife and friend, the presumed egocentrism and the sides of pain, it is a real nice crafted short film, proposing a serious fist of questions.

I think it's the work of a psychopath. A madman.

Warning: Spoilers
In a more realistic review I think it touches wonderfully on human expression when lacking communication of one's true feelings. The Nick Marchuk stand in Bohn Connor does a wonderful job of expressing a downward spiral where nothing ever gets better.

(At least I think his character was fearful of her pregnancy and using the fortunes as an escape from confronting that fear, and karma was stabbing him repeatedly for it)

But I stand by this is the work of a mad man.

The shots that really stood out to me was the night time shots really leaning into that real and orange, but looking motivated and gorgeous for it. Acting wise the pay off for that ending scene was insane.
