I rarely post here, but reb-warrior's review brought up something I suspected that many viewers would question about Alexa's reaction to Harry being injured in the line of duty. I'm pretty sure I know what the writers intended. As a general note, Lucy Lawless has been amazing throughout this series in conveying/portraying grief from losing a beloved spouse as the years go by. The writers and director made this episode so subtle that it's definitely open to interpretation. When Alexa sat on the sofa, sighed, closed her computer, and tried to keep it together, I felt it in my heart.

When we meet her in Season 1, Alexa is somewhere between 2 and 2-1/2 years from losing her husband. It's a time when most people have started to move forward (not moving on or getting over) into a different life and are figuring out how to navigate the world again. Now she's close to 5 years. I am 4 years out from losing my husband and can relate to every little moment, every little scene, every little tear and laugh. So much of it is relatable for me. When she scatters Gary's ashes and the wind shifts, I cried and I laughed because her reaction is spot on. Everything from her finally being able to look through his possessions to smelling his cologne to using his knives is just right. This season, when she was able to bring their wedding photo out of a drawer and place it where she could see it, I nodded my head because for many of us pictures get put away, put back up, put away, and put back up until at last we are able to look at them and smile, even with a little tear, instead of absolutely being bowled over by a wave of grief.

But back to this episode. I believe the intention was for viewers to see multiple reasons she couldn't face going inside the hospital. First, she and Harry are close friends now (and implied with benefits last season). Second, it's very likely that the last time she was at a hospital like that with a police officer seriously injured was when her husband died. Believe me, it's completely reasonable that even several years later, she still couldn't face it. Third, we know she hates going to the doctor and is a lousy patient. Any and all of these are reasons that make sense to me.

It's a wonderful episode with more character development along with a well put together main plot. I know that the character Beth was not originally planned, at least based on what I heard about an interview about filming and a COVID lockdown, but I think she's marvelous, is quirky in a different way, and works very well with Madison. The actress who plays Olive is delightful and I love that they've made Will a more likeable guy, even if he is still, well "Will Crowe."

Overall an excellent episode in a consistently good series that get better each season. To be honest, I wasn't all that into the first episode, but a friend said to give it a chance because like many great series, it took a few episodes to really come together. My friend was right.

Alexa can't deal with a friend being hurt. Olive's school drama. Chowder's a thief!

Pretty great episode focusing on the murder of a manny in a private school setting where Olive Crowe just happens to go.

The guest cast was great, playing snobby and vindictive parents. Lol.

Alexa can't deal when Harry gets hurt. What's up with that? Are they friend with benefits as suggested in season two? One can guess that Alexa was profoundly affected by her hubby's death, which is completely normal.

Both Beth and Mads are in this one as Beth goes undercover as a nanny. Loved it.

I love the Olive/Alexa scenes. These two are so much fun to watch. Loved how Alexa pitched-in in her own Alexa-way to help out Olive when she was upset.

Chowder is a socks & underwear thief. Lol. I'm all here for Alexa being lovey with her cat. Cute.

As usual fun interacting with Will and Alexa. Their convos are always witty and fun. 10/10.
