Liberating
marcusliou59 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the best episodes of American Horror Story: Asylum yet. I would call this the liberation episode because of the way the characters speak to you. Lana finally gets liberated from Briarcliff and gets to be freed of Dr. Thredson's (Bloody Face) evil grip. We also see Sister Jude being liberated as she taunts the Monsignor and relinquishes all her thoughts of him. It was a very fast paced episode that was a pleasure to watch solely because of every viewer's longing for Lana to be free, fulfilled. One of my two stipulations is the painfully awkward moments with Grace and Kit; they could've made it better. Also the moments with Lana and Dr. Thredson's son made me think I was watching a porno. This is why I give the episode a 9/10 of a score. The best episode by far is still "I am Anne Frank: Part 2."

Dylan McDermott stole the episode
jackDee-5656519 January 2021
Dylan's performance was great sadly again the writing of his character falls flat and generic, the whole aliens sub plot was awaste and it never really leads to something, overall a well acted but still dumbly generic written episode

A 1980s Horror Mashup
skeletor_59 January 2013
I had a lot of high expectations for season two of American Horror Story, and perhaps this is where it has come unstuck in that season one set the bar far too high.

Season one was set a very high standard, setting itself in a horror genre very similar the films of the nineteen seventies, films like Rosemary's Baby, and Psycho, where we were afraid of what we could not see. This was further strengthened by the strong cast, and the intermingled plot lines.

Where season one set itself firmly in this genre, season two has gone ahead and completely changed the genre, to the more visceral bloody horror of the nineteen eighties: zombies; exorcisms; Nazis; and space aliens.

Whereas season one owed more to Roman Polanski, season two owes more to the more bloody films of Wes Craven. That season two is set in an insane asylum, where some of the actors from season one have been thrown in with new personalities and agendas, pushes season two into the ultimate 1980's horror mash-up.

Granted many may say that season two is not as polished as season one, but as a stand alone work, season 2 is bloody and visceral, and what it lacks in scariness, it certainly makes up for in shock value. Going by this trend, season 3 will probably be set in the nineteen nineties style of horror... Wes Craven without the blood?

Still great
MomentIMDB11 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After a great episode, Asylum continues with a very good episode. I like how the plot of the son of lana is developing and I hope to see his meeting with her. I like how intrigue continues to be generated on the subject of aliens, but I need an explanation in the next one. Because I hate Timothy, Judy doesn't stop suffering. Kit finally achieves her innocence and leaves briarcliff with her baby and grace, but soul is also alive. THAN??? The best thing about the episode is lana. At last she manages to escape in one of the best and most satisfying scenes in the series. I loved the confrontation scene from wool to thredson and it kills her, definitely amazing. I wonder what is going to happen

American Horror Story: Asylum Spilt Milk
dalydj-918-25517513 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
In the present time Johnny Morgan (Dylan McDermott) has a women come to his apartment and they talk going into having sex. After the credits we switch to the 60's where Oliver seems to be the runner of the asylum taking away Grace and Kit's baby from them thinking it is the best decision. Before this Kit and Grace talk about her experiences with the other life forms and what she remembers which is just mostly about bright lights. Grace also tells him she saw Alma's dead body. The nun friend of Jude tells Lana she is able to be free, also she is given the forums that talk about the torture Lana went through while at Briacliff. Lana easily gets out of Asylum and as she drives away she gives Oliver the finger while showing him the tape. Oliver goes to his apartment and waiting on a chair with a gun pointed at him. Just as these two start their conversation we go from them to more scene between Johnny and his female friend who talk about Lana and Oliver because they were his parents. Oliver tells Lana of Wendy's body, then when Oliver turns around and the police lights are outside Lana shots him in the back of the head. Lana then makes a place for her to visit to remind her of Wendy. While Lana is save Jude is still in the atmosphere of Briacliff trying to save all the unfortunate people still in Briacliff. Timothy then has to talk to Jude and she know not on his side, she talks to him about his lose of virginity. She then proclaims to be more sane when she is crazy women then the nun she once was. Kit is then released and before he leaves he asks for Grace to be released along with him. Kit and Grace then move to their house but waiting is Alma who somehow happens to still be alive. Lana goes to get rid of her baby but after thinking back on it she decides to keep the baby. Lana now a few months pregnant with the help of the police to talk to Jude but is told Jude committed suicide. However Jude is being kept in a strange place and seems more confused then ever. A few months later Lana had her baby but does not choose to feed it but when the baby cries she has to try feed it. Strange episode with only Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange being saving graces. The alien plot annoyed me so much because I just do not care at all for it.

EPISODE GRADE: C- (MVP: Jessica Lange)

S2.E11 - Exposed [9/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S2. E11) My Live Reaction / Review for American Horror Story Season 2 Episode 11 ''Spilt Milk''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9.3/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. They took Grace's baby? That's so cruel. The baby have parents that love him. Lana about to escape once again, I hope this time it will work. I hope that Lana will expose them for all the bad things they do. Im glad Lana killed Oliver. The sad thing is that I liked Oliver as a character and a few more episodes with him would be nice. Kit and Grace are free now? Im so happy for them. Lana decided to keep the baby? That's good. The Monsignor lied. Sister Jude is alive! Overall this episode was good, my rating is 9/10.

Not what I was expecting....
sartr-110 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Season 2 of American Horror Story established itself with me as classic horror television as early as the first episode. I thought the dangerously swerving "out there" attitude of the scripting was just what was called for. To me, a horror story shouldn't be concerned with a basis in the rational world, like a documentary or even science fiction. That's what has me a little let down with this (and, I expect, the last) episode. Instead of a scene of fiery conflagration and the full expression of horror I expected for the climactic episodes, it's like all of the basic subplots and characters are being carefully filed away. Even in the previous episode, I wondered at the quiet, dignified end of Dr. Arden, when traditionally only the most spectacularly gruesome of deaths are reserved for evil mad scientists. It seems like the obvious choice would have been for him to be torn limb from limb by his monstrous creations. And Sister Mary Eunice's end seemed similarly inappropriate to the build-up of her sub-plot. I never would have guessed that Thredson, after all the gore and mayhem left in his wake as Bloody Face, would end up being shot in the back while enjoying a martini at home. That never happens to serial killers in horror movies! Lana Winters has being trying to escape from the asylum since the first episode. So naturally, she drives off in a taxi after being let out the front door by a nun (who scarcely even appeared in the show). This episode was the definition of anticlimactic, to me, considering what went before it. So I can only give it a six. I wish I could hope for a redeeming explosion of carnage in the final episode. But what is there really left to do? This might just as well have been the concluding episode.

And what's with the breast-feeding thing? Is that horror or does it just sort of fall under the heading of TMI. I vote TMI.
