These four minutes are the music video for the Rolling Stones (around the age of 70) song "Doom and Gloom" from 3 years ago. I must admit that I have never been a huge Stones fan, so maybe this is why this video did not really appeal to me. What we see is fairly generic. The Stones play their instruments, make a decent show on stage and we also see some special effects. In all this, they god Swedish actress Noomi Rapace to appear in here as well, a connection that was maybe made by director Jonas Åkerlund, also from Sweden and one of the most influential music video directors in recent decades. Still I have to say most of his video that i saw did not really impress me and it was often style over substance in terms of what we see. What we hear in this one isn't much better. Mediocre rock song with no real recognition value in my opinion. Then again Stones fans will possibly enjoy this more than neutral observers like myself. Thumbs down.
