I no longer like Lisa.
northkingkai1 October 2023
What was once my favorite character, full of patience, conviction and righteous indignation, has been reduced to a brainless fangirl who would harass and assail her own father because a vapid celebrity told her to.

I don't know if the writers have simply forgotten about her, or just hate her now, but every season seems to take away more of what made Lisa great, and now it seems there's nothing left of the character she once was.

Beyond destroying a once great character, this episode serves no real purpose. There's only one decent joke, and it's promptly ruined by repeating the exact same joke.

I didn't hate this episode quite as much as the other reviews did. The only joke that I thought was in bad taste was the anti religion one at the very end. I didn't know young people were still obsessed with pop stars at all in 2023. That feels like such a late 90s sort of thing.

Homer got some pretty funny lines in this and there was some good visual humor. I hope and pray flaming hot Oreos become a real thing someday! The two songs in the episode have funny bits in them.

I'm a 33 year old who's been watching the show since I was an infant. Is modern Simpsons as good as it was in the first 10 seasons? Undoubtedly no but I don't really expect it to be either. It would be impossible to maintain that level of quality for 30+ years and people need to except that things change.

Its too difficult to describe how horrible this episode was.

The Simpsons writers lost sight of humor about 23 years ago, and they've been slogging along like a dumb lazy overpaid zombie since then. The think they're making fun of pop culture but that was the 90's In the new millennium they just go along with pop culture to get ad revenue. It stopped being about entertainment back in season 9 or 10. The same year they sent some of their best writers to work on Futurama, which is a much better show.

You can go to youtube and watch a video called "The Fall of The Simpsons: How it Happened". Its 31 minutes and 8 seconds long. Very good description about how everything went to hell.

THIS ONE attempts to spoof modern American cultural obsession with young female pop singers, which is at least 20 years late. Instead its basically just kissing their bottoms, which is very much contemporary. And not one joke in the whole 21 minutes was funny. They got somebody I guess they think is famous to boost ratings. Its terrible. I wish they'd have killed it off in 1999.

Go watch. If you like it, you are part of the problem. If you dont like it, please do not watch this show, at least not on primetime. Let the ratings die, let the series die, let us all move on to the future.

One of the worst episodes in the entire show Warning: Spoilers
This episode from season 34 is, as the title might suggest, about the fans of this celebrity that Homer makes fun of. In my opinion, it's one of the worst episodes in all of the Simpsons due to the plot which goes nowhere at all and just ends abruptly like there is no progression in it at all and additionally it is not funny at all, just full of unfunny jokes that make me groan more then anything and some really disturbing parts like one scene where the characters are talking about Lisa's boobs it's like she's an 8 year old tf???? So overall that's why I really hate this episode, it's a disgrace for the show!

The ABSOLUTE WORST of The Simpsons!!!
puterdood15 May 2023
This episode is basically a Pontiac or Oldsmobile car. It should have gone straight from production to the junkyard and spared the rest of humanity the agony and complete waste of time we spent watching it. This episode is a perfect example of what a complete waste of all resources looks like. Who wrote this travesty? Who approved this train wreck of an episode? The only thing worse would be watching the president's state of the union speech! No, I take that back - watching the president does contain some humorous moments that indicate the end of humanity is near. This episode of The Simpsons indicates humanity is now a complete loss.

Why did I watch it, you might ask? It was just so I could say I have seen every one of The Simpsons episodes. If this is the kind of garbage the rest of The Simpsons will be like, they might as well close up shop now and end the entire show. Like I said earlier, this is the absolute worst episode ever of The Simpsons! It is a complete waste of ALL resources!

Why?
rachelrasmussen10 February 2024
This episode does an okay job of lambasting the rigid conformity that is one of Lisa's biggest flaws. But the cheap shot at the last line undercut all the authentic messaging. The irony of writers who don't know they are parodying themselves....it's painful to watch for them and hurtful to have a show that you once understood and understood you, turn into a deluded stranger. Whoever the writers are for this stretch of episodes needs to stop watching cable news and start writing for the human condition again. I didn't love the episode, but I hated the ending.... Airing your ignorance of institutions is not comedy.
