Strong Recommendation to watch the Odia master piece
architasahu-1473922 September 2023
If u are only reading reviews and deciding to watch or not, Stop right here, book your tickets and go. No review can give justice to this master piece. Natural acting of all actors, screen play of the beautiful subject which is from the odia novel "Nada Bindu", the beautiful locations of Puri, The to the point BGM and the Last 20min PreClimax are the essence of the film.

No language can make you feel the emotions better than odia language, if you are a true odia. This feeling is driving the movie which is taking over the emotions of every viewers. This movie will surely be remembered as one of the best movies of Ollywood industry ever made.

I smell some national awards flowing to odisha as this movie deserves everything.

A quality Odia movie with authentic Odia culture
MovieReviewer-xxx20 September 2023
Watched an Odia movie after almost a decade after my friends seriously recommended it to me and hailed praises about the movie. I went in with a lot of apprehensions and borderline preconceived notion against the quality.

I was expecting it to be just another copy with the usual masala. But I was SO WRONG! It was such a WONDERFUL movie! I did not expect such quality from Odia movies to be honest!

This is an amazing movie with authentic Odia culture and real feel! I could feel that a lot of research and hard work has gone into learning and showcasing Odia culture in the movie. Hats off to the cast and the production team!

If you love realistic movies with real feelings, this one is for you!

If you love Odia culture, this one is for you!

PS: I was so impressed that I ended up creating an account just to post this review and congratulate the team!

PPS: This movie should definitely win a lot of awards! They deserve it!

New identity of Odia Cinema - MUST WATCH
sabmanage1 October 2023
I used to Troll Odia Movies for many reasons. My entire idea changes after watching Pushkara. One Word review : MASTER PIECE .. MUST WATCH!

I can't control my emotions whole writing as I had a deep impact of this movie, specially the climax. This movie has so many points to connect with life and so many hidden messages. Very powerful screen play and story. Above all super class acting by all actors in their respective roles. You will not feel U are watching actors on screen. It becomes so natural that after 15 min of movie (with a voice over and song) you will dive into the world of Pushkara.

Last but the Best part is Sabyasachi's phenomenal performance! Nilakantha and Pushkara, two shades of one guy will glue U even in interval. Best climax ever.

I am sure this movie will bad many national and international awards for sabyasachi and Pushkara. Proud of the cinema.

Golder Era of Odia Cinema is on its way
KumarikaMohanty24 September 2023
When I first saw the movie still of Pushkara featuring Sabyasachi on temple stairs, I sensed it is going to be a unique Odia film. After watching it at Cinepolis in Esplanade, Bhubaneswar, I was truly impressed.

The cinematography, screenplay, music, and dialogues were exceptional, beautifully showcasing Odia culture with references to Boita Bandana, Sahi Jatra, Swarga Dwar, and the Puri accent.

Pushkara is a must-see for all, not just Odia viewers. It's thoughtfully subtitled in English, offering a glimpse of our beautiful state.

The casting was spot on. Sabyasachi Mishra delivered a versatile performance, and Supriya Nayak was delightful as Sunanda. Her character was well-defined and equally important.

The story unveils in layers, with some predictability but still holding the audience's attention. It evoked grief, suspense, drama, humor, and tragedy. The brilliant climax was as praised as described.

The audience laughed and related to the portrayal of Odia sons and daughters' complex relationship with their fathers. Many felt it was a personal failure not to meet their father's expectations. Tears flowed during the end credits, but Sabyasachi's in-person gracious entrance, thanking the audience, was a fitting conclusion.

Culture riched movie
sarveswark24 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
After more than 20 years of gap a team has taken risk of adapting a novel from Odia literature. This was a culture based movie. And the culture that many of 20's generation kids might even doesn't heared of. More over I liked the way of its presentation and cinematography. Despite of shooting it in 2023 where all over you will find smart gadgets the team has avoided showing those to take viewers back to 90's.

There were some silly mistakes like loosing expression, forcing some unnecessary scenes, fine cuts between scenes, can be also ignorable. Folk song was really nice. Finally after all we are seeing a movie that relates to Culture mixed with Love.

Actors gave their best ever performance to make this movie watchable
jenarajeshkumar-730188 October 2023
My first Odia movie in Hall. I enjoyed every second of this authentic odia movie. The drama, screen play and direction is also very detailed represented by the director.

Especially Sabyasachi Sir's acting and performance really touched my heart and soul. I saw some of his movies in television He came ever time stronger with his new projects. I think "Puskara" is his career best performance.

They really tried to show eastern Region culture of Odisha in this movie. I can recommend this movie to all movie lovers. Please come to the Hall and see this amazing movie.

All the actors did very well.

Jai Jagganath 🙏

A thoughtful story of life and love
sailajasankar-mcom18 October 2023
The story is 10 on 10, classic and represented the culture. In odia it is after years you will fins such type of raw story. It is about to bring the lost era of odia cinema. The essence of soil is clearly visible in the story. However direction would have been much better to justify more emotions to the story. Some cinematographic deficiency can be observed as well. Screenplay and other details are would have been better. Can be explained in little more detail so that it would have been a masterpiece. Overall the movie is a piece of art. It will left you in thoughts of life and its outcome. Will have a divine impact as well as peaceful feeling.

Masterpiece
likhilkumar15 November 2023
Literally my minds have blown after watching the movie. What an amazing representation of culture and social taboos. The story line is just so emotional. Narration is praise able. Directon is to the point. Shoots have been in real locations. Lead actor sabyasachi made me fan of him. Lead actress tried her best. Some supporting characters can be best but it won't make feel you. Screen play is tight. It made my eyes wet in the climax. It was one of the best emotional climax ever I've watched. Literally it's a masterpiece of the Tarang cine production and I'm feeling guilty for not watching it in theatre. Just no words and recommend as must watch odia movie......... go fast and experience yourself the goosebumps.

Must watch, one of the best Odia movies
suchitradash-901096 October 2023
Pushkara (Odia movie)

Rating: 3.5/5

I watched Pushkara in Bangalore today evening with my family. The movie is an adaptation of Odia novel Nadabindu.

What I liked:

1) Sabyasachi's career-best performance stands out throughout the film. Supriya, Ashrumochan and Choudhary Bikas Das also did quite well. Nobody could have played Sunanda better than Supriya. Kudos to her.

2) Original story based on a novel and the direction and treatment are honest without any commercial masala 3) Odia culture and Puri provide a great value addition to the screenplay 4) Despite a tragedy, the film manages to touch heart strings of audience and evokes strong emotions

Areas of improvement:

1) Screenplay was a bit slow in the first half 2) The transformation of Nilakantha to Pushkara should have been explored a bit more and shown 3) Due to budget constraints, the funeral setup looked a bit haphazard. It could have been shown in a more realistic way.

4) The movie at times gave the feeling of a TV serial, especially the scenes after Nandu's death where her family members were mourning felt very cringe to me

I would urge fellow Odias to watch the movie in large numbers and support good Odia films. It is critical to keep Odia cinema vibrant so better films can be made in future.

Thanks for reading.

good could have been better
sidharthnpm8 October 2023
Main strength of pushkara is in its writing and direction very good adoptaion from a novel . The director subhrashu das and the writers did a superb job, i dont know why odia industry, media, critics wont praise them or promote them well everyone is praising the hero though the hero Sabyasachi promoted the movie well and whatever the movie will earn 60 percent due to his promotion only but one shouldnt ignore the filmmakers and writers else odia cimena will have same four old directors who just make poor copy of south bollywood and now koren movie and same writers who only know ctrl+c and ctrl+v in the name of writing. Technically this is a wellmade movie as the dirctor himself is a dop so this movie captures essense of puri and characters as far as actors sabyasachi did a very good job its his best work till date though he may not be the most talented actor but he is one of the most hardworking and in this movie his hardwork surpasses talent of many. Supporting cast like ashrumochan, choudhury bikas das and late pintu nanda are good. Production houses should not cast their staffs as major characters in these kind of movie. The main surprise in the movie is supriya as sunanda she killed it after so many yrs i have seen a odia female actor performing so amazingly she is one of the rare talent if she becomes more choosy and work in better movies and scripts she will become one of the greatest female actor from odisha. Hopefully we can see more movies like pushkara.
