The seventh game of the 2017 World Series on Wednesday brought viewers more than just a heated showdown between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros -- it also gave fans a brand new TV spot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
While the new teaser is mostly comprised of shots from the exciting second trailer that came out in early October -- and at just a scant 45 seconds is agonizingly brief -- there are a few awesome new tidbits for fans to freak out over.
The most exciting glimpse comes right at the beginning, when we get a look at Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) reacquainting himself with the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.
A cloaked Luke walked through the halls, and marvels at the lights and sounds of the ship's controls as the small but familiar room powers up and comes to life around him.

The long wait for The Walking Dead's All-Out War is almost over. Season 8 promises to be the bloodiest and deadliest season of the series to date. However, it won't be all action, all the time, at least if the latest sneak peeks can be believed. AMC has released two preview clips from the beginning of season 8. While it's not much more than people talking and preparing, it gives a sense of calm before a great storm.

The long wait for “Game of Thrones” Season 8 just got even longer. HBO has not set an official premiere date for the final season, but it’s now looking increasingly likely that “Thrones” won’t be back on the air until 2019. The series has never been off the air for an entire year (the Season 7 premiere was delayed two months because of production but still debuted over the summer), but it’s now extremely doubtful the show will return at any point in summer 2018.
Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth, revealed to TV Guide that production on the final season is expected to last from October until the start of the summer, which is around when the show would usually begin airing on HBO.

The long wait is nearly over, as we’re now just a few days away from the release of It, the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s wildly popular novel which has influenced so many of us and given generations of readers nightmares since it was first published in 1986.
During a recent press day for It, Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with screenwriter Gary Dauberman about his involvement with Andy Muschietti’s take on King’s classic story of a group of kids who must band together to fight the evil force that has long tormented their sleepy town of Derry, Maine. During the interview, Dauberman discussed his approach to focusing on the pre-teen version of the Losers’ Club for the first film, the pressure and anxieties he faced while working on the screenplay, wanting to live up to King’s expectations, and more.

The long wait is finally over and the North remembers and winter is here. In Westeros at least, and on its winds it brings a Dragon Queen and her armada, vengeance, and some scary as heck White Walkers. But before we get into it I have to warn you. If you haven’t seen the Game of Thrones premiere “Dragonstone” yet, go watch it before you read this because there will be spoilers.

We’ve heard about it for a long time now and even though we knew it, and anticipated it, seeing the snow fall in Westeros still feels a little surreal. The long wait for Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” is almost over, and Warner Brothers has released a new 60-second mini trailer that pretty much guarantees this will be the most intense blockbuster of the year. The latest batch of new footage arrives as tickets for special 70mm engagements go on sale today. Tickets for all other showtimes, including 35mm and digital, go on sale this Friday, July 7.
‘Dunkirk’: 9 Things You Need to Know About Christopher Nolan’s WWII Blockbuster
“Dunkirk” recounts the events of Operation Dynamo during WWII. The mission was planned after large numbers of British soldiers were cut off and surrounded on Dunkirk beach by the German army during the Battle of France. The movie is told from three perspectives: The soldiers trying to survive on the beach, the air force trying to keep them safe from German forces, and the navy and civilian boats who attempted to rescue the soldiers.

In December 2004, “A Series of Unfortunate Events” hit cinemas nationwide.
Based on the best-selling books by Daniel Handler (under pen name Lemony Snicket), the series starred Jim Carrey — who was as hot as fire after the box office behemoth “Bruce Almighty” and critical darling “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” — and the film entered a marketplace friendly to live-action family fare. Three “Harry Potter” films had already been released, amassing more than $2.5 billion globally, and Carrey himself had carry-d the kid-friendly “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” to the highest-grossing film of 2000 just a few years prior.
Yet even with the added star power of Meryl Streep and Jude Law, the $140 million production couldn’t surpass that figure domestically, nor double it worldwide. The film was a flop, with critics pointing to the softened edges of the original source material as one reason why.

Secrets & Lies, ABC’s anthology murder mystery, launched in March 2015. It showed enough promise, hitting its stride towards the end and delivering series highs with the finale, to earn a second-season renewal. But the second season was left off the network’s midseason 2016 schedule. When Channing Dungey took over the entertainment president job in early 2016, she opted to hold Season 2 until the fall for a proper launch. The long wait may have hurt the series, whose…...

The long wait is almost over, as tomorrow the Academy will announce the official nominations for the 88th Academy Awards. Those who have been following this season’s race are well aware that things are as knotted up as they have been in a long time, with no clear-cut front runner having emerged.
The Golden Globes may have been a bit of an indicator to Oscar’s decisions, but with a race this tight Globe wins may not be as solid of indicators as one might think.
Even films that once seemed like major Oscar contenders in multiple categories are now looking to be limited to a much smaller number of noms due to stiff competition. One such film is Spotlight, which lit up the Oscar landscape not too long ago with its strong cast and direction, but it now seems that the number of legitimate supporting actor candidates,...

The process of excitement for us filmgoers is normally the same. We hear about a film in development that appeals to us, especially if it’s the next entry in a popular franchise, and then we patiently wait for, or perhaps anxiously anticipate all that comes next: director, screenwriter and casting announcements, set photos and promotional artwork, a release date and the highly revered trailer. We think about so many factors leading into a film’s production, exponentially raising our level of enthusiasm for something that has yet to be released. One thing we don’t think about as much as we should, however, is how much the film costs to make.
We know that movies aren’t cheap for the studios, but perhaps we don’t think about total cost as much because things like trailers, or prior knowledge of a franchise, give us something of an approximation that will tell us,...

After an almost two month setback, Secret Wars is back with issue 6 (of 9 now). This newest issue of Marvel’s biggest event (ever!) is a mixed bag with some intriguing moments, but little explanation or exploration of the pieces being moved across the chess board. The long wait between issues certainly didn’t help, but the newest issue reads as if there was a chapter missing between issues five and six. Readers finally see what happened to the heroes scattered after issue four, however, most readers will scratch their heads wondering how they got into their respective circumstance—Especially Ms. Marvel as there is absolutely no context given for her situation.

The long wait for I Am Cait ended Sunday night with the premiere of E!'s latest reality series — and while Caitlyn Jenner's first solo reality vehicle definitely popped, initial ratings might not be as high as many would have guessed. Per live-plus-same day Nielsen ratings, the first episode of I Am Cait brought an average audience of 2.73 million viewers. That's slightly stronger from a typical night-of showing from Keeping Up With the Kardashians. (Jenner's original E! entry hasn't topped 3 million night-of viewers since 2013.) Talking with Cbr, Bruce Timm explained that the series and the upcoming animated movie will show a different Batman and a crazier version of Harley Quinn. “There’s no hard and fast rules about how far to take these characters, or how far not to take them,...

As Hannibal season 3 arrives, we chat to showrunner Bryan Fuller about origin stories, Francis Dolarhyde, David Bowie & more…
The long wait to find out who survived The Red Dinner (aka Hannibal’s spectacular season two finale, Mizumono) is almost over. Hannibal season three is nearly upon us, and to mark its arrival, we caught up with showrunner Bryan Fuller to find out what’s in store.
Firstly, we’re due to meet a different kind of Hannibal in a very different kind of setting. Fuller’s James Bond fandom has leached into the first seven-episode chapter of the season, which sees Mads Mikkelsen’s chicly dressed predator living undercover in the upper echelons of Italian society. The season’s second six-episode chapter introduces Richard Armitage as Francis Dolarhyde, a character familiar to Red Dragon fans.
We chatted to Fuller about the show’s revised take on Hannibal’s origin story,...

You've heard of Breaking Bad, Orange Is The New Black & House Of Cards, what about Danger 5, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Darknet and more?…
Quite understandably, column inches can't fill up quickly enough with praise for the likes of Netflix original series House Of Cards, Orange Is The New Black, Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul and Marvel's Daredevil. What though, about some of the lesser-known series available on the UK streaming site?
Sweeping past the well-publicised riches of Doctor Who, Sherlock, Arrested Development, Community and the like, we've ventured into the slightly dustier shelf of TV shows available on Netflix UK that may be lesser-known or less widely celebrated than the big hitters out there, but are still richly deserving of your time. Some are new, some are old, some were cancelled long ago, some are ongoing, several are from outside the UK and Us.
From supernatural, sci-fi,...

The long wait is finally over. It’s been almost a year now since Frank Underwood was sworn is as President, and Netflix subscribers the world over sat awestruck at the sight of him unfurling over his new desk in the Oval Office. After two seasons of lying, cheating, scheming, smoking, killing and eating ribs, Frank had finally swept aside all before him and taken his seat as the most powerful man in the free world. His trademark two knuckle taps on the table cutting straight to black, as this Macbeth for the modern age brought the curtain down in typically powerful fashion.
Whilst Frank’s long and bloody climb to the top – and ultimate revenge on the administration who double-crossed him – has been the show’s driving force since it premiered in 2012, the collateral damage alone has left characters in states of ruin, purgatory, isolation, prison, and power going...

The long wait for Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been killing us. And we still have a full year to go. But between newly released photos of the batsuit, and teases into the story plot and visual effects, we.re at least having some fun in the process. Nothing can string the heart along more than a trailer for the upcoming film, though. And now, we finally have word on when that footage will screen in theaters and looks like it will first be paired with Jupiter Ascending. According to The Projection List, Warner Bros./ DC has scheduled a Batman V Superman teaser trailer to be first projected with the Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis film, Jupiter Ascending in theaters on February 6, 2015. That means we can probably expect the first footage of the film to be released to the public right around that time. There...

The long wait for Halloween fans is almost over- Scream Factory and Anchor Bay’s stunning box set, Halloween: The Complete Collection, finally arrives tomorrow and I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity recently to immerse myself in all things Michael Myers in order to take a look at what they put together for their definitive Deluxe Edition Blu-ray set.
While I believe that The Complete Collection is absolutely a worthy addition to any fan’s home entertainment library, I know that there are some concerns out there from Halloween fans that buying the pricey set means they are forced to re-buy several of the franchise’s titles once again (especially considering most of the Halloween films already celebrated their individual releases in high-def over the last two years). That sentiment is true to a certain degree but, as a fan, I couldn’t imagine not picking...

Judging by the pre-release hype, you'd think "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" was a long- and eagerly-awaited sequel, a comic book movie for connoisseurs, whose all-star cast, eye-popping visuals, and violent action would make it the summer's last blockbuster. Given that the original opened at $29.1 million in 2005 dollars, the sequel, with a price boost from 3D, was expected to debut at least in the high teens. Such an opening might be good enough for first place, with a tight race expected among "Sin City," lingering hits "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," and fellow newcomer "If I Stay."
And yet, when the smoke cleared, the film premiered with just an estimated $6.5 million, opening way down in eighth place. The other movies all did about as well as predicted -- "Guardians," "Turtles," and "If I Stay" all drew around $17 million, with "Guardians" claiming a slight edge...

After the recent announcement at Comic-Con that Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah will appear in Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla sequel, Legendary has officially dated Godzilla 2 to be released on June 8, 2018.
This means fans will have to sit through and excruciating four year wait, but this is mostly likely to give Edwards’ time to direct Star Wars spin-off, which will bow on December 16th, 2016. The long wait for Godzilla 2 hurts a little, but it’s nice to know that the people involved won’t be rushing to simply cash in on the first film grossing over $500 million.

The long wait is almost over, and we’re less than a month away from the August 22 release of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. To celebrate, we’ve got the brand new red-band trailer from Comic-Con for your viewing pleasure. The new clip is a lengthy three-and-a-half-minutes of ultra-stylish visuals accentuated with a pulse-pounding soundtrack. The trailer shows off the expansive cast -- from tough guy Marv to newcomer Joseph Gordon-Levitt -- while literally oozing style with each frame. Miller and Rodriguez have gone to great lengths to create a film that apes the style of a comic, just like they did in the original Sin City, and it really looks like a graphic novel has come to life. With multiple story arcs (including two...
