This is hands down the best conclusion of a show I have ever seen. It's the perfect farewell to the world and characters we have grown attached to.
I had initially felt unsatisfied with the ending, than I thought to myself - ''hang on, is this what Carol also felt?'' The initial unsatisfiaction was a crucial element for first-time viewing, as it truly puts the audience in a position of wanting more, similar to what the characters in the show are feeling at this point in time. They've only just got to know their coworkers and befriend them, only for the end of the world to put that to a halt. Wishing they had more time with each other. The same way we as an audience also wish for more time with them.
A satisfying ending to an excellent show. It's everything I had hoped for and so much more.
