Better than part one...

While I have indeed watched the 2022 movie "Single Black Female", and not particularly liking it, I wasn't particularly in much of any rush to sit down and watch the 2024 sequel titled "Single Black Female 2: Simone's Revenge". However, given my love of movies, and the off chance that this movie might be worthwhile watching, then of course I opted to sit down and give it a fair chance.

Writers Sa'Rah Jones and Tessa Evelyn Scott return to write the script for the sequel, just as director returned to the director's role for the sequel. And that counts for something, I guess, if nothing else, then at least for a sense of continuity and familiarity with the previously established characters and preceding storyline.

The storyline in "Single Black Female 2: Simone's Revenge" is adequate. I was somewhat entertained by the narrative, though there were some massive plot holes throughout the course of the movie. But hey, it proved to be entertaining enough for what it turned out to be. Sure, I wasn't expecting an evening of Shakespearian theater when I sat down to watch "Single Black Female 2: Simone's Revenge".

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, nor do I actually remember whether or not the leading actresses were returning to reprise their characters from the first movie. Yeah, told you that the 2022 movie didn't really impress me much and thus left no lasting impression. The acting performances in "Single Black Female 2: Simone's Revenge" were fair.

Was "Single Black Female 2: Simone's Revenge" a good crime thriller? No, not particularly. It was watchable, sure, and tolerable for what it was, but it certainly isn't a movie that I would recommend you to rush out and get to watch. Nor is it a movie that will ever grace my screen a second time.

My rating of "Single Black Female 2: Simone's Revenge" lands on a four out of ten stars.

Just.. No!

Just as bad like the first one also K. Michelle is beyond over the top in her moments,as though she's trying to be the shining star/lead.

The lead actress & her counterpart/half sibling was cast ok as lookalikes,unfortunately though acting which is a bit generic-But fitting for Lifetime.

Same type plot,clichés & more! Wasn't anything unique.. Well unless the part where the roommate was actually,wanting to help Simone & not just saving her life earlier in the movie.

Also for 3 years Grace/Simone had amnesia but within minutes of hearing Monica on tv,she just remembers and goes into being evil.. Oh and how can she be a sister in a uniform at a church just so easily,under the circumstances of being an amnesiac without any credentials.

Can tell there will be a dragged out part 3 due to a child birthed & put up for adoption,was introduced towards the end to her mother Simone.

Also why didn't Monica's friend explain what happened after she came to from being knocked out,so there was enough cause for possibly no jail.. I mean wasn't any tv cameras,security footage or even a phone rolling for proof,as that was the point of being there to trap Simone right? Ugh!

Does not make sense

Spoilers It's starts ok but then makes no sense Simone gets her memory back Because she sees her sister on tv I do not remember why she hates her sister who had nothing to do with anything It was the fathers choice Anyway once the stalking begins Simone goes into the studio With ease even though there is a security guard she manages to go in a back door No cameras apparently then she goes to her sister office while she goes to get a fake package Sister computer is left open Most computers automatically turn off and you need a password to get in Then she deletes her work and send a horrible message to hr about her boss that her sister had wrote She leaves but her sister boss sees her and goes after her Somehow Simone who never met her boss got ahead enough to break into her car in the backseat mind you the boss was a second or two behind How did she know which car Boss is found murdered and the cop says did you write this letter (the vent letter) if we all got charge every time we wrote something about a coworker or boss we would all be in jail Then the sister boyfriend finds something out about Simone Simone apparently googled how to get into your phone and not sure how she was able to plant listening device So she goes to the boyfriend house covered I am sorry but Simone is probably a foot smaller and no offense weighs a lot less than her sister yet the boyfriend and the snoopy neighbor cannot tell the difference For some reason Simone new roommate becomes her friend and when she finds out who she is tell her I will stand by you we are sisters So the actual sister is planning on getting Simone so they set her up Simone roommates knocks out the sister friend then got no reason Simone kills her A stab with a small knife will not kill you right away unless it's in the heart or brain yet she dies instantly The sisters meet and fight and the cops show up and arrest the sister because she had the knife For some radon the sister dies not mentioned that this is my crazy sister stalker or anything just yells I agree with the other comment why does the friend not say anything It just made no sense The whole stupid daughter given up for adoption was stupid as well Was the nun a criminal too You know Simone daughter will get her revenge and get the sister out of jail in the third movie.

Made absolutely no sense. The first annoyance is when Monica writes the story she is to give to her boss by the next day, Simone manages to get Monica away from her desk. She then goes into Monica's office and deletes her work. Monica returns and her work is gone. Really! You are a professional who constantly write news stories and you don't back up your work. Second annoyance is why aren't there surveillance cameras in the building. A security guard is paid to sit at a desk, but they didn't bother to install cameras. This is my biggest annoyance. Simone goes over to Trevor's home pretending to be Monica. She is wearing a mask. However, Trevor has spent time with and slept with Monica. So it is difficult for me to believe that even wearing a mask, he couldn't tell that this woman isn't Monica. Simone's skin tone is lighter. She weighs less than Monica, and she is shorter in stature. I'm also sure that the scent of her hair products and body products would be different. The feel of her would be different.

Finally, did the police even investigate all the murders. Simone decapitated Monica's neighbor and Monica's ex boyfriend was also found murdered in the neighbor's home. The police made no mention of these murders. I would think a decapitated body would be front page news with all hands on deck investigating it. Surely they won't try to pin these murders on Monica. Did the police even look for evidence, fingerprints, murder weapon, something before so far charging Monica with two of the murders.

Now there is probably a part 3 in the future. Hopefully part 3 puts Simone where she belongs and all these ridiculous movies are put to rest.

Just dumb

Man this movie made me so made! The ending uggh so let me guess it's going to be a third one with Simone and her crazy A** daughter 🙄🙄🙄 like Simone needs to be in jail not Raven this is just uughh. And that's what the make up artist get dumb A** to.. I'm telling you it better not be a third movie because I skipped parts in this, I just wanted to know what the ending was going to be like and it was a huge disappointment. If you are with and for Simone then you will probably love it other than that it's a huge no. I love K though so if it is a third and she is in it then I will probably watch just because of her though!
