Tony Goldwyn joins
safenoe8 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It was the end of a distinguished era when Sam Waterson left Law and Order, and here we get Tony Goldwyn as the new District Attorney Nicholas Baxter, and he's an enigma, and he's not afraid to clean house soon after being sworn into office. We see one ADA walking out glumly with his box of belongings, and hopefully he managed to find meaningful work after being fire by Baxter. Anyway, I remember first seeing Goldwyn in Ghost in 1990, more than three decades ago, and Goldwyn hasn't really aged much at all! Anyway, the opening credits sees Price and Maraun walking at the front, with Baxter on the right half a step back.

Balance of Power

Warning: Spoilers
No one is going to ever replace Jack McCoy and while this show is probably over in a few years, it was necessary to try and do such a feat.

Tony Goldwyn had his own take on the role and while I need a little more character depth, this was not the worst introduction. I like the idea of some tension with Nolan. We should have arguments between the DA and the ADA and not just moral debates. There are always going to be differences in strategy and tactics and we should get that on TV.

Looking forward to the rest of the season, but this was a promising start to a new era many of us thought might never happen.

Worst prosecutors ever
boris_badanov23 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know how these prosecutors keep their job. Every time you turn around they're evidence is being excluded.

The judge rules against them in every case.

Evidence is tossed out, often on the weakest things. Lawyers actually review this series and laugh at some of the stupid things that get tossed out.

The two police officers have no chemistry, You feel like they're just 30 seconds away from getting into a fist fight.

The lady prosecutor wants to argue with the male prosecutor; and almost sounds like she wants to be a social worker.

The captain of the cops is underused. She's a good actress and needs to be used more.
