Supposedly, according to this story, Thomas Edison was working on a "Spirit Machine" that could locate the departed. We begin with a seance where remarkable things happen. Then we cut to a father and daughter, traveling around, collecting junk. He is a kind of lazy guy. His daughter is apparently dying. They come upon a ramshackle shed where they search for "treasures." They make their way to a hidden basement where the Edison machine is sitting. What transpires is confusing and exciting. The problem is lack of information to guide us logically.
