Overshadows the song Warning: Spoilers
With all due respect, this music video totally overshadows the Peter Gabriel song.

Don't get me wrong: The song is actually pretty good, and with a nice catchy melody, but it's nowhere as memorable as the music video, with its weird, yet fun surreal imagery. Even completely divorced from its soundtrack, the video stands perfectly well on its own as a dream-like stop motion animation.

I wonder if the sequence with the dancing chicken was intended as some sort of veiled reference towards David Lynch's Eraserhead. It's probably just a coincidence, but it was the first thing that crossed my mind when I rewatched it recently.

Definately one of the best music videos from all-time.

Perfectly weird

A perfectly weird music video. The song doesn't make any sense at all but its a total vibe, so why shouldn't the music video be the same? Peter Gabriel at his finest.

Wallace and Gromit would be very proud

Warning: Spoilers
Three years before Wallace and Gromit were introduced to the world by Aardman Animations from the United Kingdom, we had Aardman Animations producing Peter Grabriel's Sledgehammer, and it was a smashing success, and I remember there was a lot of analysis about hidden meanings on the video, with one commentator slyly hinting there was some "adult content" to the video, like I guess so if you look hard enough init. Anyway, it's amazing when the Sledgehammer video was released, in 1986, nearly 40 years ago, and yet it's timeless. Believe it or not, in that same year the US sitcom Sledge Hammer! Was released.

total show

A special mix of animation, singing, a clever story, humor and fine irony. And, off course, Peter Gabriel. A total show, seductive memories and admirable effort for a great video.
