Two French women, active in the Resistance against the Nazis, , the ethnologist Germaine Tillion and Geneviève de Gaulle Anthonioz (a niece of general De Gaulle), survived the atrocities of the KZ Ravensbrück. Friends forever, they fought till their death for more democracy, against torture and the death sentence during the bloody battle for Algerian independence, for the human rights of the poor people of the "Fourth World" in France, for the rights of women and the right of education for girls and boys in the "Third World". A remarkable and moving portrait.
