Monty Burns' Fleeing Circus is a great Simpsons episode with a well written plot and plenty of very funny moments. It's a really fun twenty minutes as we see Mr. Burns putting on a variety show in Springfield. The entire development of it is well executed by the writers, and the addition of Lisa as the voice of reason was a nice touch.
However, I was hoping for a bit more with the opening episode of its landmark 28th season, it would have worked out better being put in the middle somewhere. As the first one it is a little underwhelming, when we are waiting a couple of months for a new episode we do expect a stronger opening.
The highlight has to be Burns' show itself, filled with a ton of hilarious segments from various different characters, including a bit from Ralph that had me in stitches. The potential of the premise is brought to life here.
It's a wacky episode that leaves you smiling, Mr. Burns' Fleeing Circus is an enjoyable Simpsons.
Mr Burns puts on a variety show at the Springfield Bowl in exchange for rebuilding the town.
