Why is this not the 1st episode?
ntghydrafour4 September 2019
First off, this is a pretty good episode of television, maybe even great, but it presents no new information, between the character's dialogue in the previous 2 episodes and the information presented at the beginning of episode 1, we already know just about everything that's going to happen in this episode. This is also the best episode of the series so far, so why not use it as the pilot to hook in viewers? Or even break this episode up and disperse it through the first 2 episodes as flashbacks.

Amazing.

3.5 out of 5 stars.

The episode takes place when Rycroft and Vignette first met. When his troops take refuge in a hideout where the Faye's are. They both fall in love with each other. There are some secrets that lie within Rycroft which there is a sacrifice he has to make. You learn a bit about his character. The visuals, the set design, the script, and direction are still good. Not as captivating like the first couple of episodes but still enjoyable.

Simply Brilliant

I liked the show after the first two episodes, but this one was simply stunning.

Marvellous work by both Cara and Orlando and a fabulous bit of back story which tied the earlier two episodes together.

Can't wait to see where this goes.

Context

Warning: Spoilers
This episode provides the context needed for the first two episodes. The audience is introduced to the backstory of how Vignette and Philo met and explains some questions from the first two episodes. Beautifully scripted, directed, choreographed, and the acting incredible. If it were up to me, I would have taken scenes from this episode and put in the pilot to hook the audience. Happy I continued to watch the story unfold as I was sure an explanation was on its way. Cara Delevingne and Orlando Bloom's performance convinced me of their convictions for the characters.

... and immersive. We get a glimpse into the back story of how Vignette and Philo met, and sadly separated, this will draw you in and yearn for more.

The attention to details is amazing, not just with the movie setting and props but all of the acting as as well, Orlando is awesome, Cara is outstanding and wholly believable, I never want this series to end :)

Revelations vs cliches
stephanvanberkel8 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I like the series a lot so far. I don't think political views bring down the story, though you almost can't deny their presence. Episode 3 causes a relapse in my liking of the series.

I think the most in depth parts of this episode were the background revelations about Philo and Darius. I personally didn't see them coming, watching episode 1 & 2. But the love-origin story between Philo and Vignette was very shallow in my opinion. The love seemed to sprout out of nowhere and had many cliches. This, combined with not top-of-the-bill acting, made the love scenes more cringe than enjoyable to me.

Still like the revelations though, will keep watching!

The Pix Have A Library

Well at the start of this Ep., Legolas is some sort of scout or officer for the Burgue. I guess this is some sort of flashback to when Legolas and Vignette first meet.

Okay so Legolas and Vignette hookup when they first meet. Unlike ep. 1, this time the scene is done properly. +1 Star.

So Legolas's friend, Gimli, he gets infected with the wolf virus. Legolas doesnt kill him even tho he knows. And Legolas and Vignette they start to realize their affair is going to cause a problem for them.

So the history between Legolas and Vignette is explained here. As well as her anger at Legolas letting her think he was dead for the last 7 years.

Now he's a cop. And of course she's still some flying PIX.. 6/10.

Frustrating
Leofwine_draca24 February 2022
Plenty of gratuitous sex and nudity and very little in the way of depth or strong plotting. The back story interludes make this feel all over the place and I was quite frustrated throughout.
