Warning: Spoilers
I have played Dragon Quest IV both on the Nintendo DS and on a tablet touch screen device for iOS or Android. This game has the best soundtrack by Koichi Sugiyama my favorite composer. I also liked exploring the make believe world and cartoon monsters created by the same artist who created drawings for Chrono Trigger and Dragonball series. This game is divided into 6 chapters. Now on to the good things about this RPG game.

The good things in this RPG game.

You get to explore the world map in 6 different chapters. You can choose your favorite characters up to 4 can fight in battle. You can get the Falcon Blade for 65,000 coins for your Hero or Ragnar. Meteorite Bracelets 10,000 coins each to double your speed on a character and You can also get the Falcon Earrings for Alena to attack two times. I like it when Taloon actually steals an item from the monster, it helps me out. I also like it that I can fight Metal Slimes, Metal Liquid Slimes, and Metal King Slimes since they give me lots of experience points that I need to level grind my characters so badly. I also like the evac and zoom spell which helps me to teleport quickly out of the dungeon or to another town, the ship helps to travel places but the hot air balloon helps me to get to out of reach towns you can't use zoom on. I also like some of the items i can use to heal characters in battle. I like the Liquid Metal Sword which helps me attack metal slime's who have high defense. I like it in Chapter 3, Taloon can give items to his wife and makes him huge amounts of money and I can buy 99 of each item to put in the bag and later on sell it for money when he joins the Hero in chapter 5. I also like the Miracle swords that heal my characters for every hit. I like that the Prayer Rings you buy for 500 coins can be sold for 2250 Gold and Magical Skirts you buy later on for 1000 coins can be sold for 7350 Gold, helping me to buy expensive weapons and armor that's high priced.

The bad things I don't like in this game and want to fix

First of all the Casino at Endor is very rigged and is often a waste of my time. It's torture and boring to play through. I do not like the slot machines, the winning payout is horrible. Second at the poker table, you can no longer bet 100 coins like in the NES, instead you can only bet 10 coins which makes playing poker useless. The monster arena would've been good as you can bet up to 50 coins and win more money, but it sucks because you often have a 25 to 33 or even 50 percent chance at winning and you often lose in this Arena game, you're lucky if you win over 1000 coins. Not only that, you have to win about 2 to 3 times or more to make lots of money. I don't like it that you have to pay 10, 200, 20 gold in Chapter 2, 3, 5, 6 for one coin, what an expensive ripoff. I want a save state cheat feature for Poker card game and Monster Arena battles because it's frustrating to constantly lose at the game. Also why is Falcon Blade so expensive at 65,000 coins? I have to grind at the monster arena for money which takes many hours just for one Falcon Blade which I can find at the Castle in Pioneer Town later on in the game, and Psaro comes with one equipped. You can forget buying the Liquid Metal Helm for 100,000 as there's another easier way to get it. And forget buying the Gospel Ring that costs a whooping 250,000 coins which would've been useful to have in chapter 2 but it's only available in chapter 6 or late in chapter 5 in the iOS, Android version which makes it a useless item to have to turn off random battle encounters as you're near the end of the game, it should've been like Final Fantasy 6 with Moogle Charm or Final Fantasy 8 where you have to option to turn off random battles. Also the enemies get way too tough in chapter 5 and you still have to level grind for hours just to fight Marquis de Léon or tougher boss fights like Estark, Psaro the Manslayer, Aamon, Chow Mein and Foo Yung who are very tough bosses to fight. Also in Chapter 3, I don't like that the rare Cautery sword that Taloon gets in the store he works at is sold at random.

My best and worst characters.

My best characters I like using are in the following, Unnamed Hero, Alena, Ragnar, Taloon and Psaro. I don't like that Taloon does his own thing at random in battle however he's useful when he can steal rare items like "Happy Hat" and "Liquid metal helm" from Liquid Metal Slime and Metal King Slime though I had to use the "Sands of time" item since it's tedious and random to get the item stolen. I had to have Ragnar use the Meteorite Bracelet to double his speed since he's slow in battle. Psaro is gotten so late in the game and needs leveling up so badly and is required at the final boss fight. I like that Alena has high strength and speed and Ragnar has high strength.

My worst characters that I tend to leave out of battle are Maya because she's so weak at fighting and can't equip good weapons, armor, Meena because of her low strength and her tarot cards isn't that useful, Kiryl because he's not as strong in fighting, but the worst of them all is Borya because he's the weakest fighter in the game.

Overall this is a great game but gambling in this game sucks. They should've given us video game players the option to cheat with a save state feature which I would have gladly used in case I lose the bet and then start over at the save state point instead of having to walk from the church to the casino. If they had included the save state feature, I would've given it a higher rating but avoid gambling unless you want to waste time on getting the Falcon Blade for 65,000 coins.
