Lobotomized Science
LAHegarty1 July 2018
Feels like something made for children rather then adults, I haven't learnt anything new from the show.

A generous 6/10 from me.

Good topics but what's with the rapper
arthurstam20 August 2018
This guy asks only stupid questions or repeats what the other party days. Almost an insult to the scientists that have to get and have serious conversation with him.

Science? Maybe.
JustJinxed17 June 2018
The series takes a rather surface level review of various topics in science, and does a decent job of exploring many different facets on each topic. GZA however, is near robot like in his narration, clearly not understanding the concepts and reading from a script. After about the third episode, his influx of opinions as facts becomes intolerable. This is supposed to be a view on science, but quickly becomes a religiously tinted narration centered around what GZA thinks and feels.

pretty awesome and interesting

I watch alot of science and technology documentaries and really enjoyed this serieis and hope they make a season 2. The topics and technologies reviewed were awesome, i loved hearing GZA ask questions about them because he asked questions that normal people would want to know and ask. He comes off as a normal guy learning and asking normal questions to very smart scientists and engineers like any of us would. I also liked that he is a spiritual guy and tried to communicate there is more to life than science. Whether you believe in that stuff or not i think it is refreshing and admirable to see a human side to this stuff and he wasn't scared to confront and voice his opinions to the scientists.

Worst documentary style series I've ever seen
cdattiliofun22 June 2018
The wash up rapper is an intolerable host for a series with topics he is in complete ignorance about. A majority of the show is him talking nonsense that has no correlation to the topic at hand. The only good part of Liquid Science is the few short moments the scientist are able to speak with the constant interruption of the host. It is clearly distinguishable when he is reading from script vs when he is not. He is very closed minded, opinionated, argumentive when his opinion is conflicted with science, hypocritical in his pitiful philosophical talks, and attempts to make correlations in his speeches that don't make any connections to one another nor connects to the episode topic. I am absolutely dumbfounded that anybody believed that he was considered a viable choice to host a science documentary. Episodes are to focused around host's backstory, beliefs, and babbling that the topics are not discussed in depth.

Testing the boundaries.
berkalex0301221 June 2018
This was a wonderful overview of humanities efforts to push the boundaries of science. I was surprised that this was produced by Red Bull, but then I thought about it, and I can see how it makes sense. The highlight of the series for myself are the views of the work space of the scientists, the conjecture of GZA on directions for future technologies, and the enthusiasm of the researchers as they condense all of their passion and knowledge about their work in one segment. If you make it a point in your life to stay up to speed regarding scientific advancements, you're probably are already aware of the concepts discussed. Having said that, it is still worth the watch to hear directly from the scientist involved and to see their setup 1st hand. Yes, the host GZA is not a scientist and largely not knowledgeable about the topics discussed- same as 99.9999% of Earth's population. I enjoyed watching a host learn as they explored the topic. Not every science show needs a Carl Sagan, Bill Nye, Neil Degrasse, or Brian Cox.

So liquid it flows down the drain
heartspill18 June 2018
DZA, openly a believer in unscientific concept like a 'soul' is probably a poor choice to communicate scienctiric subjects and it shows. The allegedly cutting edge technology is often based on conjecture and as of yet proven hypotheses and is thus rather faith based: faith that at some point in the future the wishful thinking will prove to be true. Cryogenic feeezing, robotic bees, digitised minds are but a few examples of hack-science presented without any critical assessment of the underlying concepts. DZA is clearly out of his depth as a presenter evident in the often empty expression he displays when presented with even simple scientific concepts. Two stars for the effort to use a presenter who is "down with the kids" to make science education more appealing. But because it's such a poor attempt it surely doesn't deserve any more.

Relatively interesting... but stick to rapping.

A lot of the concepts on the show were interesting; however, I would have enjoyed a more intellectual perspective on some of the topics... Gza wasn't quite there.

Bringing the average man into the lab
greekmaria30 June 2018
As a full-time science communicator, I think that it's vitallly important to make sure the non scientific public has an appreciation for science. The GZA asks the questions that the everyday person is probably going to ask, and I think this is good He brings his own perspective and his faith along with him. You may not agree with him, but he's far more relatable to the science curious public than NDG or BN or other scientist hosts. This show makes science accesstible to a broader audience, and perhaps spark an interest in science among people who decided to watch the show just because it is hosted by a member of The Wu Tang Clan. We need more shows like this.

GZA talks SCIENCE
anthonyjmay6 September 2018
If you're not a Wu Tang fan, this is not the documentary science series for you. In fact you should probably go and watch Cosmos. I personally have a healthy nostalgia for Wu Tang Clan and really like science so am probably the perfect target demographic.

This is an accessible science series and it's refreshing to see a take on this style where flights of fancy about what technology could be are entertained. My take on this is that GZA has hearths scepticism about some of the technologies but is willing to explore all possibilities from hurricane proof building materials, right through to Cryogenics.

Leave your hyper analytical mind at the door and follow some fanciful futurism and you'll have a blast.

Couldn't keep watching after episode 1, just so bad.
lananju30 April 2019
This is not a scientific documentary. It's only GZA's view of cool "scientific" topics but nothing really promissing or helpful. Nobody will learn anything to help humans or the planet in here.

Worth It!
apuchy5715 July 2018
GZA asks the right questions and is good at putting the focus on the Science. Some directions that some scientist want to go in make me skeptical and some are intriguing. I am all for promoting science especially science that benefits the human race as a whole.

No science here, only agenda driven politics!
rsvp32131 January 2019
I only watched the first episode, and I can't believe that so much information *proven scientifically wrong* is still being disseminated like this!

Very biased opinions, zero critical science. Waste of your time.
