Checkmate, Part 2
bobcobb30127 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Seeing two former Desperate Housewives stars was kind of odd, but good casting nevertheless. I do object to the ending though. NCIS shows have done the season finale death too often and while they at least told us who the shooter was, we know Pride survives so there is no point to do this ahead of Season 5. And if this was the end of the show had it not been renewed no one would have been happy.

Not bad, just not finale-worthy.

You know it's bad when even I can figure it out

Warning: Spoilers
I have friends who watch shows like this because they like to figure out the bad guys and their motivations while watching, but I usually drift along, semi-following the twists and turns, and almost always end up surprised by the conclusion. There are enough endearing characters on the shows I watch that spending time with them is a pleasant enough way to unwind at the end of a busy day.

In this two-part episode: I knew the policeman's car was going to blow up and incinerate him.

I knew Lou Diamond Phillips was going to end up the bad guy.

I knew when Pride went upstairs to change his shirt he was going to get shot.

If even I know what's about to happen, it's really a sad situation.

Makes a fine Arrowverse episode

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode once again our superhero (Pride) finds himself in the middle of a supervillain's conspiracy and gets framed. The supevillain also tries to take his team down using his corrupted power and some goverment tool agents.

Nothing to see here folks.

Superhero life and career is at stake but he will win even with personal cost.

Because that's what supeheroes do damn it !

It's like groudhog day (NCIS NO Edition) all over again.

not much to look at here

Its the same old garbage in garbage out ncis formula ... i sincerely doubt the real naval investigative service operates like this show portrays .. in fact its rather boring so these wild schemes to save new orleans have to be concocted to make it watchable ... scott bakula is a terrible actor and should have stayed a spaceship commander ... btw, there is no book to operate by, its called leadership and once you've earned the command position, they don't take it away like a candy bar....

Warning: Spoilers
Ok so the bad guys had a hit list and had no problem killing people one by one off that list but to take down Pride they concocted a ridiculous scheme to have him arrested? And he was being arrested for going "off book" which he did many times! Pride was guilty and should've had his badge taken away at least twice by now. And all these dummies defending him and all this b to protect New Orleans for the millionth time. But I digress. They should've just setup an arrest gone wrong and shot him. Definitely didn't need to stretch it out over three and half episodes. Ugh. I don't know why I still watch this show.

Ridiculous villains
martin-6288 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
For a couple of seasons now NCIS: New Orleans had been doing what stopped me watching The Flash and, long ago, Enterprise and Voyager. That is having the same all powerful villain (or alien species) throughout a series who isn't defeated until the season finale. Then he is superceded by a new villain next season.
