The Harry Potter franchise made worldwide stars of its main three actors, who portray Harry, Hermione and Ron. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson seem to be in sight after the last Hp movie was released in 2011, while the fate of Rupert Grint, who played the most awkward and the youngest son of the Weasley family, is lesser known.
It turns out that after starring in Harry Potter, which was quite a challenge to Grint, he preferred to explore indie films and take the unexpectedly extravagant roles.
His first post-Potter project was the 2012 war drama Into the White, and the actor’s feisty character was definitely a far cry from Ron Weasley.
This trend continued in the 2013 biopic Cbgb, where Grint reunited with the Severus Snape actor, Alan Rickman, with them playing drastically different roles they had in Hp. Besides, that year is remarkable for the actor’s appearance in Charlie Countryman.

Stuart Gordon was the master of cinematic H.P. Lovecraft adaptations. Sadly, he passed away in 2020, but his Lovecraft franchise lives on with Suitable Flesh (read our review Here), which comes from the team of director Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Mayhem), screenwriter Dennis Paoli – who worked on the screenplays for Gordon’s Lovecraft movies Re-Animator, From Beyond, Castle Freak, Dagon, and Masters of Horror: Dreams in the Witch-House – and producer Barbara Crampton (who was in Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Castle Freak). The movie was given a theatrical and VOD release back in October, and at that time we heard it would reach the Shudder streaming service this January. Now we know exactly when it’s going to start streaming: January 26th!

When Joe Jonas Didn’t Recognize Daniel Radcliffe ( Photo Credit – IMDb; Instagram )
Daniel Radcliffe is one of the most popular actors who started the journey in the film industry as a child. He spent his formative years playing Harry Potter’s character. There must be hardly a moviegoer who doesn’t recognize Radcliffe. However, there was once an incident when Joe Jonas of the famous Jonas Brothers failed to recognize him when he posed as an office receptionist for a prank. Scroll below to get the deets!
Daniel first appeared as Harry Potter in 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and then his fame grew exponentially. The actor is still known for his work in the Hp film franchise as the Boy Who Lived. On the other hand, Joe gained popularity as a member of the band Jonas Brothers along with his brothers Nick and Kevin. He was recently...

One of the most surprising things I learned about "Dream Scenario" director Kristoffer Borgli is that he's not online. After all, his new film -- a dark, fantastical comedy about an ordinary man (Nicolas Cage) who starts appearing in the dreams of strangers around the world -- is a metaphor for the modern internet experience, specifically when someone gets famous for the right or wrong reasons on social media. Anyone unfortunate enough to still be using Twitter in 2023 knows the patterns "Dream Scenario" is twisting. It's sharp satire, and perhaps the first movie to truly explore the perils of internet fame. Maybe it takes an outsider to see the full picture, and an outsider to realize the dream of social media has truly transformed into a nightmare.
I sat down with Borgli at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, where "Dream Scenario" played as a secret screening. During our conversation, we talked about "The Twilight Zone,...

One of my most eagerly anticipated horror releases of the year is the H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Suitable Flesh, which is coming our way from the team of director Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Mayhem), screenwriter Dennis Paoli – who has contributed to the screenplays for some of the most popular H.P. Lovecraft adaptations ever made; Re-Animator, From Beyond, Castle Freak, Dagon, Masters of Horror: Dreams in the Witch-House – and producer Barbara Crampton (who was in Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Castle Freak). The film is set to receive a theatrical and VOD release on October 27th, courtesy of Shudder and Vertigo Releasing – and with its release date just a month away, a trailer for the film has been unveiled. Check it out in the embed above!
Suitable Flesh is also set to reach the Shudder streaming service in January of 2024.

Last July, it was announced that Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Mayhem) was set to direct an H.P. Lovecraft adaptation that had a screenplay written by Dennis Paoli – who has contributed to the screenplays for some of the most popular H.P. Lovecraft adaptations ever made; Re-Animator, From Beyond, Castle Freak, Dagon, Masters of Horror: Dreams in the Witch-House – and was being produced by Barbara Crampton. Now we know that this Lovecraft adaptation is called Suitable Flesh, and Lynch has taken to social media to announce that the film will be having its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this June! Guillermo del Toro's aborted adaptation of the 1936 H.P. Lovecraft story At the Mountains of Madness – an influence on everything from Alien (1979) to The Thing (1982) to Prometheus (2012) – is one of modern cinema's great what-ifs.
First mooted in 2006, at one point the movie had James Cameron and Tom Cruise on board to produce.
Alas, the studio passed, and it took until his recent Netflix series Cabinet of Curiosities for del Toro to directly adapt the founding father of cosmic horror.
