Two Steps Forward and 1 back
sbuhrman-747989 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The episode as a whole was fantastic! Team building episode with the new guys just like we have every year for the newbies. I do like the time period choice too! The biggest advancement was with Nate and his dad. Strides of progress and wonderful bonding (from the characters and actors) and it was a pleasure to watch.

Here's where I'll say was the mistake. If we've been making a character serve time to better herself because she was once bad and misunderstood, can we not have Nora Dahrk escape from captivity to be blamed for the emotional death of Nate's father. Nate should be able to trust Nora. Nora should get words out before being accused. I feel like we're going to play the same old game now of "can we trust her or no?" That we've already played once with her and also with Mona AND we're going to play with Constantine and his hell demon controlled lover.

I love the show and the characters, but the writers can and have done better than this. Climactic and awesome ending turned stale just by that one move. Still interested, but how much better would it have been to believe Nora and hear about the doom ahead?

Good episode, just mona bringing it down a bit.

Warning: Spoilers
The plot is good, the getaway and the nixon storyline is okay. The only good thing about mona's scenes is that i rembembered what her wolf form and her transformation makes me think of: michael jackson in thriller, yes it's that bad, but sometimes even worse. For example: the ugly transformation is the reason we didn't see the heroes suit up that much this season, or at least, that's what the crew told us.

Show Needs Reboot
magnum-ajt9 April 2019
I had great expectations when Constantine was added. But the writing has gone so far downhill. Show was much better when it was Rip with the timelines and not all the stupid relationship drama.

Jejeune.

Nonsense can be funny, but this series has run out of anything more than poor slapstick. There has been a general devolution of the characters, and many of the better ones have wisely decamped. I believe that there is no reason to expect anything better than comic book wit, but this is halfwit.

The magic is gone
garabedian1239 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
They had magic before the 3 month break. But not after. Is it me, the episode, or the extra extra long break? What is it exactly that made it lose the magic. I don't know. But oh boy. What a stretch of a en episode....Mona is gonna be a new character? I had somehow found her charming before, but now I just want her to die. Am I evil? Also that costume/cgi thing is the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

Lots of boring drama stretched out over the entire length of the episode. Drama between all the women of the show....ALL AT ONCE??? WTF

Hank had seemed like supervillian kind of evil but at the end he flips 180 because he loves his son...sorry but lame and boring. I was glad to see hank die because he always added a cringe factor, that was especially present in this episode.

Terrible.
cruise015 August 2019
Episode 4.10 (1 out of 5 stars).

The episode is just terrible. Story is horrible. They go back in time to help Nixon and come across a truth bug that makes any one speak the truth. Mona is even more annoying as a character. Nate and his dad bonding was barely any progress. Cheesy direction. Poor writing. The episode feels like a filler.

Dear God. What happened?
dhenderson-910 April 2019
This is one of the worst episodes of television I've ever witnessed (and I've been watching Supergirl). It used to be a good show, but it's no longer watchable. It's like the old Dukes of Hazzard writers contracted Alzheimer's and wrote this in a drugged stupor after 3 days of sleep-deprived bar crawling. Seriously, nearly all of it is impossibly, incurably brain damaged. The most obvious thing is the writers don't know how to write male characters. All the me are either duffuses or over-testosteroned caricatures of bad Hollywood propaganda meant to create a subservient male. The women are actually more like strong men than strong women. I get that this is fantasy, but in what world does a former CEO of a huge tech company (Ray Palmer) have trouble driving straight when his breaks are affected? And when did The Atom get nervous talking to a country sheriff. Did he sustain brain trauma and I missed it? The truth bug was used very conveniently. It seemed to enjoy popping from person to person as a weak camp device. And the agent who could have shot monster Mona and instead let himself be mauled? Seriously? Would anyone hesitate shooting a monster when in mortal danger given plenty of time to do so, much less a trained agent? I get that they were doing a Smokey and the Bandit homage this episode, but it didn't work. This is bad writing at its worst; because it's lazy. Instead of taking the time to write a well-crafted story with realistic characters to get people interested in comics and their characters, this dreck got puked out of the writing room and ended up contaminating our lives. Sorry for the passion. I loved this show I'm its first season. The frustration comes from seeing it steadily descend into the campy Hee Haw show it is now. Even Hee Haw was better because it embraced its campiness. This show tries to be campy and poorly character-driven but wants us to take some of the menaces seriously. In that, it has failed. I've tried, but with this episode, I think I'm giving up.
