Mostly all the reviews for this episode may lead you to believe it's downright trash. While I don't believe that's the case, this is the weakest episode of the series so far in my opinion. There's still some highlights. Mostly all the performances are fantastic, Billy Porter absolutely kills it, and briefly learning about Pray's history with his stepfather is heartbreaking. I will say I'm not a fan of how often Candy has appeared since her death. If the actress is going to be in every episode, why make the decision to kill the character? Also, we randomly find out that Candy also had AIDS. I just think there could have been better storylines for the character. Blanca also revealed she had AIDS during the cabaret, and I'm intrigued to see how this impacts her relationship with Elektra. Her reaction stuck out the most to me. As Blanca's mother, I figure she will have concern, but in her own Elektra-y way. Blanca's landlady, Frederica, returned only to distract Blanca long enough for son(?) to close down the nail salon. The protest that arises at the end of the episode is super powerful, and I'm curious to see how Frederica deals with this.

I have loved Pose since the first episode but "Love's In Need Of Love Today" was the worst epsosde of the series. I think it was just an excuse for Ryan Murphy to let the entire cast (and Patti Lupone) sing. My main problem is that we already did the Aids cabaret episode last season. Also why is the evil land lady singing? The answer is because she is Pati Lupone but in terms of the plot it made no sense. I'm also a little tired of seeing Candy's ghost AGAIN. She has been in more episodes dead or alive. I'm hoping next week's show is better.
Basically a musical episode

I love this show, but this episode is disappointing. It goes out of its way to work in songs for most of the cast members - no matter if it makes sense or not (looking at you, evil landlady). It is basically a badly disguised musical episode.

Really not looking forward to having Candy's ghost or whatever haunt this season. I skipped most of the scenes. Ugh.
I like Pray Tell as a character but this was horrible. They really tried to draw out the drama and season it with a whole bunch of tacky songs. It's a complete dull halfway through the season and I think they missed the mark with this one. I feel like they insist on having these musical Glee-type episodes too much. We see your love for the musical theatre, no need to push it down our throats.
This had no emotional resonance for me, so it only irritated me more when they tried to get an emotional response. It's a no from me.
