Usually I know exactly how I feel about an episode, especially when it's a final. This time I'm not sure. On one hand it was interesting and surprising but on the other hand I just don't know if it feels right.
I never thought Robert Zane would sacrifice himself for Harvey. I don't know if the weight of an old story would be a good enough reason to do it. The old case didn't have anything to do with Harvey and the trouble they were in (Harvey breaking privilege) didn't have anything to do with Robert. Sure, he's older than Harvey but usually there needs to be another reason to throw yourself under the bus. I understood when Jessica did it, she was Harvey's mentor but I don't know if Zane had a good enough reason to do it. If he was about to retire anyway then maybe but I never saw any indications he was even thinking about it.
Another reason why I have trouble with the storyline is I that it doesn't seem to have a good message to it (morally speaking). Take Hardman for example, the guy is a criminal! He stole 250 million dollars from his own firm, not to mention all the other horrible things he did and he never got punished for it. Leaving his firm and being on the outside is not a real punishment! If someone decides to rob a grocery store to feed his family the punishment is jail. Hardman didn't even have a "good reason" to do what he did. He was always a horrible person. He stole money from his firm, cheated on his wife, betrayed and lied to his friends, he manipulated people to get his way and clearly all he ever thinks about is revenge. The man takes no responsibility for his actions and he just keeps getting more and more opportunities to keep at it. Harvey on the other hand tried to do the right thing. He shouldn't have broken privilege but he did it because he was loyal and cared about all the other people who could have gotten hurt by his client's lies. He was just trying to fix it. Obviously, this is not the first time the show had to deal with a problem like that but I have to say that it's just hard to watch it. I guess I want to see the good guys win, even if it doesn't happen in real life.
As for Harvey and Donna, I always assumed they would end up together but is it right? I don't know how I feel about it. Their relationship was always too complicated and I find it hard to believe it won't continue to be. I also don't get why Donna said she felt nothing when she kissed him. She implied she has no romantic feelings for him. Up until that point, I thought she loved but was afraid to lose him if she showed it but kissing him when he was in a good relationship just to say she felt nothing was really confusing to me. I guess I'll have to keep on watching and see but even after writing this review and trying to process everything, I still don't know how I feel about it. Weird.
