That Ending!!!!!!
acorbo-4058030 October 2019
This episode was overall a pretty good episode, however the cliffhanger, mind-blowing ending makes it insane! I feel the main problem is they just have too many story lines going on at once. The Diggle storyline made no sense and the flash forwards are just rushed. The main story continues to be really good, I just wish they spent more time on it. However, this episode had really good moments, especially the ones between Oliver and Thea. And that ending was mind-blowing!!!!

Gets crazier

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was pretty good, it was nice to see Thea and Talia again. The fists were still very good, as well as Oliver's and Thea's chemistry.

John and Lyla's side story was good enough, nothing crazy or anything just nice to see the characters interact on a mission.

The jump forwards are alright, JJ and Connor are probably the more interesting characters to me.

Now as for the end credit scene, that scene was absolutely insane and unexpected. Seeing Oliver, Diggle, Black Canary and Wild Dog appears in the bunker. To the see Oliver's son and daughter along with Connor. Just an awesome scene, will be interesting to see how they interact. As well as Diggle and other characters will act knowing of what happens in the future.

HOLY SON OF AN ARROW

I won't do many spoiling here. This episode was very good. Was a treat to get Thea and the logo from S3. The plot moved mildly putting more weightage into how the present characters are dealing with Crisis, which not to forget is the main plot of this season.

And then just that MIND BLOWING ENDING. My jaw dropped harder than my grades.

Thea Queen returns!!!!!!
RahulM00730 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode titled "Leap of Faith" is a rollercoaster ride and that cliffhanger at the end was mind boggling. Katie Cassidy made her directorial debut this episode and did a terrific job. After her performance in last week's episode, Katie Cassidy surprises yet again with her newly found talent. I hope the actress will continue to be behind the cameras as a director even after Arrow. She could perhaps direct an episode of the new Arrow spinoff if it gets green lit. Laurel Lance was absent in this episode. She would not have fit in these two main present day plot lines anyway.

Oliver and Thea's reunion and farewell was extremely heartfelt and bittersweet. I have missed Thea Queen and how she interacts with her brother and the rest of Team Arrow. Hopefully she will return at least one more time before Arrow wraps up. The scene where they were climbing the mountain felt incredibly reminiscent to the season 3 mid season finale. Two episodes of the season are homages to season 3. Episode 2 felt more of a homage to the season 3 flashbacks, while episode 3 is a homage to the present day storyline.

The return of Talia, Athena and the Thanatos Guild fitted quite well in this episode. The fight choreography this season is top notch and amazing. Stephen Amell is giving his A-game and his best performance yet this season. It astounds me how much the actor has grown on the show.

The subplot with Diggle and Lyla was quite interesting. I really thought that Lyla would tell Diggle that she works for the Monitor in this episode. They both teamed up on a special mission to save Sandra and Connor Hawke who are the wife and son of Ben Turner aka Bronze Tiger. I wonder what happens to them that leads Diggle and Lyla to adopt Connor in the future.

The flash forwards were without a doubt incredible this week. Zoey's death was incredibly emotional and made me tear up a little. I am quite skeptical if her death is permanent or if she will come back in some way. The ending where the Monitor sends Future Team Arrow to the past was unexpected and shocking. Oliver's facial expression when he sees his daughter as an adult was perfect. It will be intriguing to see how present team arrow reacts to future team arrow and vice versa.

To conclude, Leap of Faith is another mesmerizing episode of season 8. It is unbelievably entertaining from start to finish. Props to Katie Cassidy for directing such a terrific episode. Words cannot describe how enthused I am about next week's episode.

Holy S*it
ninjaboyballer31 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In episode 3 of the final season of Arrow, we find Oliver trying to learn more about the monitor while diggle and lyla deal with a more personal matter. Overall this episode was a great episode with really goof action scenes and a lot of heart, with the performances from the cast once again being top notch. Having the league of assassins as well as Tailia and THEA in this episode was also very welcome, with yet another memorable trip down memory lane. The flash-forwards were a lot more interesting in this episode and climaxed in a moment where I actually said out loud, "Holy S*it". It ends with Mia, William, and Connor being teleported through time and land in 2019 in the arrow bunker With Oliver and his team. I know they said this season was going to be insane, but not to this extent! Can't wait for next episode!

Another superb episode, lead by great acting and drama with nostalgic moments
Holt34430 October 2019
First things off, seeing Willa Holland back in the role of Thea aka Speedy is a good sight, I've missed her and her return is amazing to see. We get to see more returning characters like Talia and League of Assassins return and we know that it means nods to the third season and excellent fight choreography. The places Oliver and Thea visits across the episode is visually stunning, great sets! We really got an adventure in this episode filled with mystery and good writing. The flash forward story goes a little bit faster than I wanted which made it feel rushed but it works as we get to see some small character development and finish it off with a bang with some spectacular choreography and acting. What an ending, just wow. The direction was also good, Katie Cassidy surprised me with her directing capability. This was overall a great episode, with great acting and drama! I can't wait to see what else they have in store.

To the acting, there is some great performances in this episode. I'll name three: Stephen Amell, Willa Holland and Katherine McNamara. They all did amazing performances, with such emotion put into the role. I hope Willa returns in the spin off and sequel of sorts to Arrow that will be called Green Arrow and the Canaries. That will be perfect!

To the League and Back Again
highmarksreviews30 October 2019
I made a point in last week's episode "Welcome to Hong Kong" about the manner Arrow revisited that particular time period. Season three, flashbacks or otherwise didn't really amount to quality time with Oliver Queen. Though the trip back to Hong Kong managed to salvage its story thanks to powerful emotional moments and strong action, the cracks are a little more noticeable in "Leap of Faith", as season eight takes another stab at season three, only this time it stumbles a little.

Starting with the good, Willa Holland made a welcome, if random return as Thea Queen. While her presence served little purpose in the long-run, she did provide the bulk of the drama here, leading to many heartfelt and saddening scenes with Stephen Amell, who turned in another fantastic performance this week, especially in the episode's final minutes.

The return of Lexa Doig's Talia also fuelled the nostalgia further and allowed for unresolved questions and tensions to subside between her and Oliver. That and some exploration missions too gave Talia some much needed space.

As for the overall storyline, I cannot say it measured up to what we got before. The tedious "Indiana Jones" treasure hunt felt logically flawed. Moreover, the crypts and rooms of Nanda Parbat were way too clean and neatly arranged, while the visual and emotional callbacks to League related season three material felt a little rushed. Not to mention Kyra Zagorsky's Athena still ranks amongst Arrow's more mediocre baddies and her presence was as lackluster as one would expect. Thankfully, there were some more strong fight scenes to help distract on occasion and some admittedly decent set pieces.

Furthermore, we learned nothing meaningful or shocking about The Monitor. Then again, what is there to know? If Oliver or his team have accepted the looming Crisis and are actively working for Mar Novu, why are they now questioning his intentions? Why are we distrusting this godlike being when the alternative option would end in oblivion for all? Why does Oliver care all of a sudden? It just didn't really connect in the end.

Then there is Diggle and Lyla's little debacle. On one hand, we got good setup for their future and vital information on where their family will go next. On the other hand, their little stint abroad wasn't very fun or creative in the slightest. The flash-forwards also continued to be annoyingly poorly-written and tedious for the most part, though more action and two major shockers will undoubtedly declutter and perhaps mend this troubled storyline for the better. Yes, "Leap of Faith" pulled off one of the best cliffhangers in Arrow's eight year history. I'll leave it at that. It's really, really cool.

"Leap of Faith" re-visited season three once more with diminishing returns. While the return of fan-favourite characters and some good action elevated it, logical inconsistencies and a dull storylines dragged it down a bit. It's final twist was its true saving grace and is something you won't see coming! Avoid spoilers for that one!

Indiana Queen
ThomasDrufke30 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Admittedly, the quality has gone down two straight weeks for season 8, but there's still some fun to be had even in tonight's episode.

It felt like season 6 and 7 where only about 25% of the show was interesting. I didn't care for any of the Lyla/Diggle storyline nor did I for the flash forwards, though I will say it seemed bold and admirable to kill off Zoe, if they do in fact make her death stick. Not that I ever cared for the character anyway.

With all that said, it was really nice to have Stephen Amell and Willa Holland share the screen once again for an extended period of time. Their relationship was one of the centerpieces to the first handful of seasons and you can tell that Amell was clearly feeling the emotional weight of these scenes (way more so than Holland, but that's probably more so a character choice). I was moved by their scenes together, at the very least, from a legacy standpoint. The storyline itself? Eh. Take it or leave it. Nothing special, though at least they are trying to move the plot forward from week to week and not stalling like in years past. And even though I hate the characters, I'm kind of excited to see what next week's episode brings to the table with the past and future colliding.

As usual, it's all phoned in.
LightningB2 May 2020
This show has easily set the record for recycling its own tropes over and over. It's the same setup to the "intense" moments of every episode. Same dramatic arguments, same nostalgic conversations (that slow down every episode), same fight scenes, same attempted cliffhanger moments etc. It's like they're constantly trying to evolve the story but it feels like we're just doing the same thing over and over. I miss the days of the first couple seasons when it is just simply Oliver had come back from the island and was now being a vigilante. And that's it. Boy I wish we could go back to that. Another casualty of them phoning in every episode is the casting. I believe it's bled over into that as well. It seems like lazy casting and quite frankly Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak is the worst example. Why is she always some nine-year-old petulant brat instead of some elite assassin that we're obviously supposed to swallow that she is? Are we supposed to be buying this act? Although I believe it's positive Felicity hasn't been in this season yet. Last few seasons it's been the Felicity Smoak show with a side of Arrow. I don't get why producers think they have gold in this character. Pompous morality as if she's the only one who can't make a mistake along with the constant attempts at the quirkiness and the wittiness is just wearing thin. Loving the break from that character.

Simply amazing
ahmadakhtar-8035430 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
With the return of Thea it allowed Oliver to have a heart to heart which felt heartwarming and genuine showing how the character of Oliver Queen has developed which is due to the great acting by Stephen Amell. Furthermore the nostalgia from one of the pivotal moments for Oliver Queen where he was laying dead on the mountain after he lost against Ra's al Ghul enhanced the episode as it showed the adversity Oliver Queen has overcome.

The flash forward session is annoying and pointless for me until this episode. Now i understand why there's should be a story of their childs.

From now i hope there's should be no more flashback or flashforward session.

First of all, can we all just agree how amazing Stephen's acting is, like wow man WOW 🔥 All the emotions in this episode, Thea's return, the scavenger hunt, the redemption, the character development of Talia, emerging story line of dig and ben's son. AND THAT ENDING... It all just makes me remind that how much I'm gonna miss this show :(

No no no no not Mia in the present
larosaj-2666630 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Overall good episode with except of course for the drab future nonsense. Plus Mia gets her ass handed to her again. Should be mandatory but now with her in the present will make things harder to watch. Talia and even Speedy were nice to see. It looks like she finally ate a few carbs. Fights are still well done and have been exemplary this season but the Mia character.............

Love this show
NightmareOnElmStreetFan2 February 2020
Would really love to find out where the filming locations for Nanda Parbat are. This episode of Season 8 is the best! I don't get it, why people hate this show. Yes episode 2 was overdramatic and slow paced I agree! But i like this show I like this episode. I have seen terrible episodes but Leap of Faith was decent good episode.

Directed by sexy babe Katie Cassidy great direction from the actress. Great performance from Stephen Amell, Katherine McNamara, Ben Lewis, Willa Holland and Lexa Doig that sexy hot babe.

After years I finally saw Willa Holland back in the show as Thea Queen / Speedy. The last time I really saw her she was in Season 6. In Season 7 she only had a cameo scene and she disappeared that was it. The filming locations in the woods for Nanda Parbat was great excellent. It meantions Indiana Jones and really this film is more dedication to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) one of my personal favorite adventure movies of all time. I love Leap of Faith can't wait for next episode.

Impressive Directorial Debut of Cassidy!
Anonnamus6 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this episode was pretty great, then I learned that this was Katie Cassidy's first attempt at directing and I'm even more impressed by this actress. My attention never waned, even through the slower scenes with my hated flash-forwards and the scene involving Dig and Lyla. There were several callbacks to events that happened in previous seasons, and the appearance of Thea was awesome. This episode also invoked multiple emotions, from laughter to tears. Amell's performance was pretty much impeccable.

  • I love John Diggle and Lyla Michaels, but I do not think they are interesting enough to have their own story arc, and their story was the least interesting of this current season. I did like the mention of Ben Turner and his apparent new role as an ARGUS operative, and I hope to see him again too.
  • I am glad Thea said it so I didn't have to, but really, the one item they needed happened to be the only item left in the vault?
  • Talia is still a badass, and I couldn't help but feel that Hallmark ending with her and Thea agreeing to co-captain a hero squad seemed a bit out of character, but I dug it.
  • Oliver's face when he was hugging Speedy was heartbreaking and that's where I almost lost it. It was obvious Thea didn't believe he was really going anywhere, but Oliver knew it would most likely be the last time he ever saw her and his expression conveyed that. One of my favorite scenes.
  • I am so glad that it has finally been answered why we have been watching Arrow: The New Class for the past year. It all led up to this moment, and I'm hopeful we are done with those flashes.
  • The death of Zoe is probably meant to be sad, right? I should have probably been sad during that part.
  • I am also glad with this episode came the end of the Thanatos Guild. I assume they may have come on to the scene and perhaps they were supposed to be a Big Bad for a future season had they decided to continue on, but it did tie a little bow and ended that unanswered story arc nicely.

I really have enjoyed every episode so far this season. I may be in the minority, but I LOVE that they're bringing back old friends and foes. I truly hope I get to see Nyssa and Anatoly again, as they were two of my favorites. This is a fantastic show, and although there were many (MANY) weak episodes in the past and questionable seasons, I will always consider Arrow one of the better shows I have watched.

Sure we got to see a lot of old characters...and that was it. We got to see old friends just to help on this boring a-b-c scavenger hunt. Woo...the ending...yeah it was interesting. I hadnt seen arrow in a few seasons and had shrugged these guys off as new characters that I missed last season. But Twists don't equal story!
