The Beginning of Country the Way We Know It
Hitchcoc8 October 2019
As a young child, these were the people that were on the jukebox. Ray Price, Elvis, Brenda Lee, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and on and on. The personality of the individual performer became central. The tussle with what was blues, what was rock and roll, and what was country came to the fore. Some hung on to the previous era, but many embraced a kind of hybrid sound, and the record companies were conflicted. It was a very nice portrayal of a significant decade.
