Sometimes I blame the critics and the members of the academy in the US., for not awarding this great movie, that sure is the best work of Oliver Stone, better than the academy award winning "Platoon", sure is the best movie of the 90's together with "Underground", "Pulp Fiction", "Life is Beautiful" and "An eternity and a Day". A movie that make you feel isn't enough to see it once, not because is about a foreign president assasination, you can't feel the power of this film that dare all the filmakers of the world, to do something about that mean world that laugh about us, while our heart are claming for justice. A masterpiece 10/10. I dare you to believe in what you can do for yourself.

A reason to love cinema

One of the 5 best Latin American Films of this decade, a powerful story about life, death and find or lose a reason to live, a style of filmmaking at that time original, until Quentin Tarantino impact the world with the golden palm winner "Pulp Fiction", 4 stories that are link each other with powerful and convincing performances, without an exaggerated script, this social drama international award winning, it's a "must see" movie, that convinces the audience with the great direction of Francisco Lombardi. Really Great and a reason to still love the new cinema.

Underground (1995)

The best film of the 1990's

Simply a masterpiece and the best film made on the 90's, a mixture of black comedy with tragedy, a film that can really touch you deeply, about what are this people really and how can far they go on, when you see at the end, that they only can be happy after death, after the end of that war, that started to be a war, when brothers are killing each other, the others weren't. In the other life they can forgive each other and can rebuild a country, or a so called paradise that never wasn't there, just after death. An undefeatable spirit that leads into this people, sad when this spirit fight against each other, the city underground is where Belgrado started and finished this new era in the life of a so called country Yugoslavia, a totally perfect view made by Kusturica together with Angelopoulos the best film-makers from Europe, made by the only people that can tell the history of this Brave country.

Apocalypse Now (1979)

The more i see this movie, more i think this is the end of modern cinema, one of the 10 best film ever made around the world, what i can say watch it and take your time to understand that there is more that just vietnam, a mission or just calling everybody there insane. Take your time to watch this masterpiece, due to this is the best movie that Francis Ford Coppola ever made better that "Le Parrain" and its sequel.

10/10 Perfect.

The Other Conquest (1998)

Try to conquest the audiences...lost before

A good film, with the best intention but several parts of the movie look like a mexican soup opera, sometimes exaggerating with the intention to impress the audience, that it's sure a big mistake, because this movie sure has the power to become a classic, but due to some mistakes of the filmmakers this is another good movie for entertainment, some of the things that are great of this movie, one it's the ambientation, the historical facts and the dramatic back music, they are 10/10, but this movie based on an untrue legend, that never has been proved. 6/10

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

To some the best picture ever made...

One of the best pictures ever made, and sure the most complex, put in together the most important theories and questions that the mankind have always made through the history, as the evolution of the human being, but the intention of this film isn't trying to answer them, rather try to symbolized that evolution. Specially the evolution of human mind that is being represented by the black monolith, also this film make as the primal statement that this evolution it's show when the human being finds a better way to survive and breaking of some their paradigms. HAL 9000 a human like computer find inside of "him", the same dilemma, trying to find a way to survive, no matter what or why. Another amazing statement, it's that spontaneous evolution is not possible as well as a rational faculty that is not a born giving of the human kind. The best science-fiction film of all the times.

Reportaje a la muerte (1993)

Vicious violence and Death as a Showtime

Another hard and deep critic on Mass-Media that uses a riot in a prison, and the inmates insane acts, as a showtime for a public that didn't ask for it, a film that caused big controversy in public opinion, at first quite hard to get it, based on a true episode in "El Sexto" prison in Lima, this film made a good argued about, which must be the real role of the Mass Media and how should it be, the video camera in front of these people make them actors in an action movie, increasing their violent mind and giving the opportunity of showing how far they can get, perhaps this increase the tasteless in the tv. viewers, therefore make in the mind of the people that have seen this movie, start to worry about What to see?, and What should be shown?. A truly original and also considered as an independent movie, make a different point of view about this kind of subject.

The City and the Dogs (1985)

Sure is another Cult Film.

This movie sure is a cult film, a different film like most of the latin american films at those years, despite of most of the latin american films, this film doesn't talk about misery and specifics local troubles, isn't the kind of film that is corny and raw, and doesn't show poverty as a mass show, like mostly of the mexicans and colombians film, and it's not another exaggeration of literature cliché like argentinian director Eliseo Subiela did on "Man looking Southeast", or another comunist propaganda like some of the cubans film did it at that time, this peruvian film show human nature, the behaviors and misbahaviors of the young boys that are being preparing to the miltary life but in a deeper point of view, portraits specifically the kind of people that fulls the military institutions, maybe world wide, there is no war, but the war inside of them and everybody else, specially the inside and outside world, the movie it's a general portrait of a miltary school and the kind of people inside there, most of them with internal conflicts, and two faces to show, most of the time the movie shows this behavior in a dark comedy way, discipline is the main conflict of this movie, who determinates that, if the same institution that teach it for "love to the land", doesn't show it?, doesn't talk about corruption in a typical underdevelopment country, but it's about ambigual ethical behavior. Most of the perople sure see this movie but without susceptibilities if you feel identify with one of the characters. Maybe some say that a latin american director couldn't make so complex film, Francisco Lombardi sure did it. Must See.
