Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Very poor Disney product
Usually, I would not comment a series before it is over, but I ran out of patience with this show. I will try to be short and as unbiased as I can:
- The show has no pace and does not creates a proper atmosphere.
- New characters are badly introduced and the Inquisitors, which could have been quite interesing, are very poorly developed. The third sister as a main character is simply a bad choice.
- They destroyed Obi-Wan as a character. This is not, BY FAR, the Obi-Wan than later becames who we see in episodes IV, V & VI.
- Leia is annoying and any situation she is involved in, is just ridiculous. This is the character that tries to hook up new young audicence. Only money can justify what they did about her.
- They messed up the canon, but that already happen in the prequels so it is not that bad.
- The "product" is way to oriented to introduce new generations to the old arc of Star Wars. What did they get? A show that falls before reaching that. Not good enough for neither newer or older fandom.
- Vader is the only thing you can save here. It seems to be the only characters Disney understood, or at least, they try to protect to keep the sales. He is as evil as can he be.
El Reino (2021)
The story is not up to it: too stereotyped
It is very hard to write an objetive opinion considering the plot, but I will try.
This show was increidible well produced: superb cast, very well filmed, and even the script. If you could judge the show on that basis, it is top material. Now... the story is way too stereotyped and does not reflect, AT ALL, the political reality of the country, or even the political partys the show is representing. It is a too obvious propaganda, a very flat way to represent the political complexity of religion and politics. Too simplistic, too exagereted and clearly the story was tell in a way to be satifying to a very narrow-minded audience. Sometimes even I found myself, being pollitically against those religious-pollitical movements, stunished because of the incredible bias included in the story. A very old fashioned way to represent "evil". Once again, it is very easy to watch which is something not good at all in a political show, which I think should raise a few questions in our minds. This is just a show to justify tje political believes of some.
Tenet (2020)
Nolan in a bad copy of himself
Nolan got drunk on his own success: the movie is basicaly badly edited, with a devioused plot, and two and a half hours of money burning on the screen. The characters are VERY poor with no development whatsoever. The "villain" is one of the worst characters I have ever seen, very poorly driven in his evilness; which make him a very old kind of character (being evil for the sake of evil itself, with no other context that explains that will to destroy the world).
The plot is unintelligible, with a mix of danger-friendship-love and very questionable physics that has no good fit between itself.
Is like he tried to replicate Inception and Interstellar and Dunkirk in just one movie. It is rubbish. He is a real creative guy but he has his head in the clouds right now. I hope this puts his feet on the ground once again.
Blade Runner (1982)
The sci-fi-snob-movie dream
A movie with no clear direction. There is just one thing to be said that clearly summarizes what the movie was: even HARRISON FORD himself hates the movie because, among other things, it is very confusing.
Sergio (2020)
Fails as a political film
This review will be short, basically because there is not a lot to say about this film. Wagner Moura is a great actor, but the film is not up to the real story. It is a shame, because Sergio was such an interesting and intense character and his story deserve to be told in another way, maybe less of a love story, and more of a humanitarian drama.
Storytelling is not good in the film, it simply does not have "the hook", more drama than suspense. Mistake. And, in other topic, the Argentinian character is not from Argentina. Mistake from the people leading the casting; it takes away credibility to the film.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
One big snob dream
Just that. A pointless movie: no message, no real story, nothing deep or even interesing. I have to admit, the dinamic between the main characters is somehow catchy, but no more than that. This is a film for snob people, just that. If you love Tarantino no matter what, you gotta love it. This is not even the best Tarantino movie.
