I Am Legend (2007)
Who set the trap that caught Will Smith? Here's my take on that!
After watching this movie a couple of times, I have come to the following conclusions:
The zombie who looks at Will Smith for a couple of seconds in the sunlight, after Will just finished catching the other zombie with the trap he set up (I'm thinking it's the zombie's daughter Will just trapped, since she's approximately eighteen according to Will, and the zombie staring at Will in the sunlight looks late thirties, early forties),
IS THE SAME ZOMBIE AS:
-The one who sets up the SAME trap as Will using one of Will's mannequins as bait and trapping Will.
-The one who screams out loudly in the pier scene at night, just before Will is rescued by the Brazilian girl and the boy.
-The one who stops in front of Will's house and who lets out that horrible scream.
-And finally, the one in the final scene, where he (the zombie) crashes his head against the glass in Will's laboratory.
In all these instances, you see the burn marks on the zombie's face inflicted by the sunlight when he stared at Will for a few seconds. Also you can see in those scenes that the zombie is wearing exactly the same clothes.
This zombie also comes across as some kind of alpha-male leader of the zombies. Notice how he makes his way in Will's lab, tossing the other zombies aside violently to get to the glass protecting Will, the girl and the boy.
Will's character, Robert Neville had probably underestimated the zombies' intelligence. This would explain how the zombie was able to copy Will's trap.
Québec-Montréal (2002)
Realistic and True. A quality québécois movie.
I have never been the kind to run out and watch French-Canadian movies.
However many people talked to me about this one and so I forced myself to rent it. The result: I was very genuinely surprised.
This movie is good because of the same reason Seinfeld was a top comedy for years: it's a about nothing and yet it's about everything. It's about our lives; it's about just being human beings. Everybody will recognize himself/herself in some or all the characters.
Moreover, this movie is natural, with excellent acting, even though most are inexperienced actors (if you judge from each actor's filmography).
Congratulations to all involved!!
Signs (2002)
The more I think about this movie the less I like it...
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, however upon my second viewing, I started thinking that it was a bit too much..
For example(warning, some spoilers ahead)
1.These aliens are big and look very agile. How the hell does our friend Night Shymalan wrestle this dude in the pantry. C'mon any human being would get a huge ass-whupping from these guys.
2.Why the hell would Night Shymalan or Mel Gibson not call the police upon discovery of ET'S scary cousin in the house. They have just seen an alien...wouldn't you at least call 911 or the policewoman...any normal human being would.
3.After learning that the UFO's are to be found a mile from the crop circles, any normal family would pack up and get the hell out of their farm. At least go in town where it's probably safer....even if you think it's the end of the world, I'd rather be with a bunch of people, then all alone with my brother and 2 kids in the middle of nowhere, fighting these aliens.
4.These aliens come from god knows where, have built a technology that we probably will not see here for centuries to come..... you're going to tell me that they can't figure a way to get through a basement door...c'mooooooooooon.
5. These ultra-intelligent beings have only vapors to kill us.....they haven't developed weapons.......what the hell...they build flying saucers that travel millions of miles that can render themselves invisible, but they don't have any weapons(even if it's ground war, they can use some type of weapons without provoking us to use nuclear weapons)
6. Knowing (I would assume that with their intelligence they would know that earth and every living being on it is made up of 80% water) what water does to them, you would think they would have developed some kind of protection to H2O.
I think the bottom line is I should have watched this movie once only.
