Could have been great
11 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS!!!! Is actually really good if you watch it in Portuguese with Finnish subtitles. They should have let a European country make it with a low budget and it would be a cult classic. You could have also given it to Bollywood today and they would have some something truly special with it. Sadly it was made in American in the 90's and there is little to nothing redeemable about it. Only watch this movie when you are with friends and wanting a movie to make fun of/ not pay attention to. Not even casting a big star of the day would have saved it. Please avoid this movie at most costs! -Simon NS.

80 for Brady (2023)

What I Expected and More
4 February 2023
I went into this movie expecting one thing, and got exactly what I wanted. A fun quick flick that's wholesome and quite funny. The four leading ladies all give great performances and play so well with the goofy tone of the film. It seems to know what it is and never takes itself to seriously. At times it felt like it was relying a bit to much on it's cameos, and in some cases there wasn't enough. I needed more Gronk! Tom Brady also seemed to prove himself as an okay actor. While I don't see a great acting career in his future, he does a lot better than many other athletes playing themselves on screen.

Overall the movie is just a good time. It's a bit cheesy, has a low budget feel, and doesn't give a whole lot of new things to the table, but is funny and still a good movie that deserves any love it gets.

Inappropriate

I feel like many people are blind to this movie because of Wes Anderson. No matter how you try to explain it, the scene of the two main children dancing on the beach was not something that should have ever been filmed. Two child actors being told to touch and kiss each other by a grown man just isn't okay and their parents should not have signed off on this. The movie over all is just okay. As usually the directors specific filming style was satisfying to watch, but the addition of this scene makes it very hard to watch, I wouldn't recommend watching this movie and personally I won't be watching anything new that Wes Anderson has to make.

The Outsiders (1983)

Disappointing
12 August 2022
This movie had so much going for it, great source material, Oscar caliber director, talented young cast, and a killer theme song from Stevie Wonder, yet it just did not perform. So many moments of drama and tension in this movie completely fall apart due to such a strange editing style, and a horrible soundtrack/ score. This movie feels to short yet weirdly long because of the way it's story is laid out. I love the story of The Outsiders, I have a strong personal connection with it. It's a timeless story with relatable characters, the book is amazing, I've seen it done so well as a stage play, and I think it could make for an amazing movie, but this version just does not do the story justice. Visually this movie is great, the cinematography is excellent; but I feel like that's the only really good thing about it. I never feel the emotions I'm ment to feel watching this movie, and it's hard to give the story much credit since it's not really an original. I'm glad we got a lot of big stars out of it, and from time to time I do enjoy a watch, but overall I don't think this is a good movie at all and I hope that when they inevitably decide to remake this movie, it's a lot better and does the story justice.
