X2 (2003)
Magnificant! Excellent! And Damn Right FUN!
I am out of words. This movie was great and was definetly what X-Men fans were looking for. EVEN THOSE WHO ARE NOT! I just got back from the movie theater and was amazed at this movie. Bryan Singer really delivered it this time! I was so desperate I had to get the ticket a day before because I have been waiting for a long time for the X-Men to return to the big screen. I loved the actors. Alan Cumming as Night Crawler was a PERFECT choice. I feel like going to the movies again to see it, but the tickets are sold out until tomorrow!
In short, X2: X-Men United was GREAT! I LOVED IT!! SO, WHOEVER READS THIS MESSAGE, STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GO SEE THIS MOVIE. I ASSURE YOU THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ONE BIT.
DEFINETLY A 10 OUT OF 10!!!!!
Daredevil (2003)
Very amusing, had its moments, but got back in place...
I, myself, am a Marvel freak. I have heard Daredevil mentioned at moments, but I am really in to Spider-man, X-Men, and The Hulk. But most of the problem came from most people not really knowing who Daredevil is and the other problem was having Ben Affleck for the role as Daredevil. Now, I'm not saying that Ben Affleck was not good as Daredevil because he pulled it off better than I expected, but they could at least have seen other actors for the role.
Now, what was missing from the movie. *SPOILER*- for those who do care and they want to see the movie- After Elektra's father died between the battle of Daredevil and Bullseye, and believing Daredevil was responsible for his death, Elektra all of a sudden knows how to use daggers as weapons and leap high over rooftops? Where did that come from?
Although, it did miss things out for a Elektra, the movie tried to keep it as good as possible especially for those who never knew DD to begin with. The actors played great at their roles and kept it real as they could. *SPOILER* And for those who have seen the movie, it is said that Elektra does come back I just don't know when.
In conclusion, good movie I give it a 6 1/2 -- P.S. JENNIFER GARNER KICKED ASS, I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS. SHE'S THE S**T!!
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
More Action, More Humor, MORE FUN!!
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was way better than the first. Although some people may have not been amused the first time and said that they wouldn't bother going to see the next, well, THEY SHOULD. The action for this film was good followed by the humorous jokes (mostly by Rupert Grint, a.k.a. Ron) but it was very entertaining. This movie not only proved to be entertaining but also proved that Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Daniel Radcliffe are great actors. This movie got a 7 1/2 out of ten from me.
Blue Crush (2002)
A nice Summer movie
The acting was good for Kate Bosworth and a few other's that no one really knows yet. I mean, come on, they just started in what could possibly be a break of a lifetime for them. The special effects got a little moving. But, to tell you the truth, I was expecting it to be a let down, because the latest romantic comedy movies have been really dull. I mostly liked Michelle Rodriguez's character and Kate Bosworth's. Blue Crush is worth checking out.
Alias (2001)
Cool to the Core!
Alias is the only TV show right now that has a female as the main character. It use to be Dark Angel and so forth, but Alias is like a female James Bond. Who says that boy's get to have all the toys? Bird's of Prey doesn't cut it, but Alias does because it has a great cast and of course Jennifer Garner. In short summary, THE SHOW KICKS ASS!!
The Shining (1980)
A Classic...
Yes, before classic horror movies were destroyed into corny teen movies, there was a Classic. That Classic, my friends, was The Shining. I loved Jack Nicholson in this movie. Him and his character were somewhat related. He made you laugh, even though it was a horror movie. This movie is worth watching over and over again.
Queen of the Damned (2002)
Her performance was amazing...
Aaliyah's performance was spectacular! The way she acted was so natural and professional, as if she has been in many movies. It is a real shame that we lost someone that talented. I'm sure her role in The Matrix sequel would have been better. R.I.P. Aaliyah, I will always miss and love you.
Sorority Life (2002)
I think it's great!
I watch it everyday, I don't want to miss it. My favorite character is Jordan because she doesn't take any crap from anyone. And I believe it's really different from The Real World and Road Rules, because it's about college, you know, real things that people have to face. I mean when you grow up your not going to live in a house with seven strangers and broadcast it all over the world. Don't get me wrong, I love The Real World, but Sorority Life gives you a behind the scenes footage of what college is like in a sorority.
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Shyamalan is a pure genius!
I went out and went to the video store, wondering why I still don't have this brilliant movie on DVD, and rented it. After three years the move still captures you. The directing, the script, the actors, are BRILLIANT!! It is certainly one of those movies that need to be on your top 5 list of favorite movies, if too many, the then 10 list. Shyamalan is such a great writer and director. His movies either get you thrilled or just plain stumped. After I saw Signs, I am now not just A FAN, but A HUGE FAN!
Signs (2002)
It was great!
The movie was great! The cast and the acting was stunning! M. Night Shyamalan comes up with great plots everytime, but this is the best since The Sixth Sense. I was very surprised when M. Night Shyamalan had a bigger part in this movie then the other movies he made and acted in. Joaquin Phoenix and Mel Gibson were perfect for the characters. I really enjoyed this film and I believe everyone will get a lot of excitment when they see it. SO GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!
Mr. Deeds (2002)
It's the only laugh you'll get until another comedy hits
I was amused. I saw this film a week after it came to theaters. I had seen a lot of movies over the summer and this was the only one that made me laugh. I don't know why, but it's all the characters Adam Sandler plays. Their either not all there or a plain regular person. It's just like Saturday Night Live. The same people in all the Adam Sandler movies is like the same people back in the old cast when Sandler was around but with celebrity guests. So it's kind of like a new episode everytime. But I think people should go out and see this movie.
Spider-Man (2002)
A kickass ride!
I have seen the movie only twice, but it always kept me on the edge of my seat. It brought the year 2002 in a perfect 3D image. The visual effects were awesome. The cast was great and it will keep you coming back for more. Everyone was in awe at the theater I went to. Applause filled the theater when the movie was done. That's how great the movie was!
Men in Black II (2002)
I was really disappointed...
Since the first MIB, you'd think they would have had a greater comeback. I believe that people should be told the truth when it comes to movies. I didn't read any reviews on this movie and I should have. Like I said, I was very disappointed in this film and in Will Smith. I think Will Smith is a funny man, but this movie just made him look bad. ALL of the trailers spoiled the whole movie. Instead of going to see it at the movies, you can just sit at home and watch it on your t.v.
I liked the first MIB. It was very original. But I'm sure Will Smith will make it up in the future. But overall Jones and Smith tried to keep the movie on track.
