Mu-rim-yeo-dae-saeng (2008)
it was fun. . .
throughout the movie you're thinking "oh okay. . .i can do that"(along with a face somewhat similar to ----> (=__=) ahaha, even though the martial arts action sequences are there, similar to the crouching tiger hidden dragon element of wire flying, and even holds the "green destiny,"which if i was right that was also from CTHD maybe just in a lot of old Asian folklore.
The movie itself did have its own moments for laughter and did seem like it tried too hard @ sometimes or just rather to show off her skills of being superhuman(getting hit in the head with a hammer...everyone stares @ her something like this ---->(0__0)? and than she realizes it and falls down pretending it hurt her) ahaha well it was funny to me,yet i can say i didn't truly laugh until the end. . end credits ahaha.
Another thing anime freaks might notice is that PUCCA shows up throughout the movie and that also applies well to the story with the main character So-Hui is definitely comparable with PUCCA as she doesn't let her love interest get away from her, following him around and around,as well as her past mate that follows her round and round,so that also has a certain PUCCAISH feeling.
Another element that the movie lacked was the developing of character relationships and trying to twist too much story elements into another. First So-Hui loves one person that loves a slightly older woman, which you will have to listen to the story line as to why he likes her,but they never bring it up you just have to use your common sense, and than another young man comes into the whole equation and he likes her and she has pneumonia or how you spell that and than she remembers her past completely cutting off the relationship with the other guy and going for the other guy. . .as confusing as i just tried to explain it,is just as confusing as the romance that takes place.
well i don't think you should take my review into consideration in that everyone has their own perspective i "LIKED" the film, you might "LOVE" or "HATE" it,yet you wouldn't really be missing anything if you didn't see it,it is an okay film for everyone to see...
Minyeo-neun goerowo (2006)
never let fame get to your head
This movie was so enjoyable right after i watched it, I watched it again. . . the movie follows a girl named Kang Hanna who aspires to become a singer, but instead sings for a phony named Ammy since she's not the typical image that people would want someone to see. The movie is very comical in many situations from beginning, middle, and end,but as funny as it was, also it was very emotional. The morals you learn from this movie can be many mixed into one movie, which is always a plus. You'll gain mixed feelings for each character starting from probably liking them to STRONGLY hating them for some of the stuff they have the balls to pull off. Kang Hanna finally decides to get surgery to lose her weight and alter her appearance and that's where you may start hating her,she turns from big and cute to slim and slutty. She even turns her back on her friends and father, which you will see why the ending makes a huge emotional impact, it is pure fabulism as YOU WILL start crying, hiding your tears from such an ending is just not possible for a human being to hide. 200 pound beauty can easily be one of the best in korean cinema and i'm glad i was able to glimpse the title and watch it.
Ssa-i-bo-geu-ji-man-gwen-chan-a (2006)
Park Chan Wook does it again!!!!!
Throughout the entire movie each scene brings forth unique, seemingly weird humor, which may confuse you at times as each character has their own personal disability to permit such humor. The movie focuses in a sanitarium, which is why people have *disabilities* from believing their family is mice, walking backwards and saying your sorry the whole time, lying every word that comes out of your mouth, and of course as the title suggests someone thinking that they're a cyborg.
The effects used beautifully display the illusions which are created from the patients own eyes, which may be gory at times, but I was glad to get a glimpse of what people call to be *PSYCHOS* think in their minds, and I'm glad to have been able to see things through their own thoughts and actions as I am always to be more open-minded.
Another thing which is PSYCHOTICALLY thrilling is that in the sanitarium ROMANCE takes place....0_0 i know ROMANCE???who would've thought, but somehow Park Chan Wook and his cast of great actors/actresses manage to pull it off.The movie itself wouldn't have survived with all the weirdness and variety of characteristics that take place and I wish i had socks that made me fly...you'll see what i mean if you decide to watch this great film. ^(* w *)^ oh happy days will surely come to your mind if you watch this and maybe you might even want to lick batteries...???ahahah
Cheung gong 7 hou (2008)
no reason not to see this!!!!!!!
Stephen Chow as in his other films is known for doing COMEDY-ACTION twists and CJ7 is of no exception. This film has you laughing, sad, staring in awe at some of the situations since it is unexpected and random at times. The humor of the film is great and the morals of this fantastic film are of variety. As young as some of the characters are they all have a unique character which is played out quite nicely which only adds to the laughter. There's even scenes with action which is kick arse since Stephen Chow knows how to put KIDS fighting and make it visually beautifully, especially considering they're only kids. The hero of the story is an alien from outer space who's named CJ7 after Dicky is jealous of his friend who has a CJ1. Dicky is the main character and the story revolves around him and his many fantasies of what CJ7 can do and what he can actually do. CJ7 is so cute that i want for myself a CJ7 after you see this you will want one too!!!!!!!!!
The Fall (2006)
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!!!!!!!
This film was so beautifully put together that i was touched in many ways.It has the elements from each part of film-making such as horror, romance, comedy, etc.,and intertwines them all in a way that does work. The visuals will blow your mind and is accompanied by a beautiful score that compliments each scene. The movie will have you bursting with each emotion, even some you might have not thought you would have felt watching such a film, but this film is one i am glad was able to glance upon since it is one of my favorite movies of all time.
The actors as well take upon great roles as each little role plays a great part in the film as a whole. It will have you laughing, crying, angry, confused, but that's what great film-making is all about, and I'm grateful for the masterpiece that director Tarsem Singh. P.S. watch this film and you'll wish you'd have seen it sooner
Muyeong geom (2005)
as Soo-real crew says "explosion"!!!!!!!!!
The movie is revolved around 2 characters Gun-Hwa pyung and Yeon So-Ha,but that doesn't take away from any of the other martial artists. They managed to make comedy that made you laugh while inputing some KICK ARSE scenes of action. They even put a scene where they're fighting in WATER so you can only imagine the beautiful visuals and effects. The only thing I was a bit skeptical about was the *explosion* of action going on, it made me look at it as a sort of crappy effect, but over-all it has beautiful laid-out action scenes along with an okay plot. It will have you laughing for sure and wanting to play swords as well as exploding crap up!!!!!!!!!!
