Man of Steel (2013)
Super bore---Man
The first thing came to my mind after watching it is why?why superman(when there are half a dozen craps already)?but then i realized that its the good team involved in the project and they could take the risk to transform ourselves on the realistic grounds of the character and the story itself and maybe inject something refreshing, but at the end felt again disappointed by Nolan and Co. because everyone played safe and the creative team were monetarily motivated rather than to explore creativity.
Secondly,i don't understand why they have to convert it to 3D.The action sequence and the scenic charm didn't justify it.Action were repetitive like all these same action flicks of Hollywood. This movie is a bogus until you are a comic fan,Nolan fan or Synder fan or the superhero genre lover, which is all over the place for this last decade of this stupid century. It has nothing new to offer. Its all formula now for Nolan and co.and they are measuring it right from the screenplay, the E.Q,IQ and the time linear form. and not to forget the marketing strategy to the final output.
I am not surprised if people gave it some 8 or 9.Its the course of the world now. My personal opinion-please don't waste your money on it,instead do better things with it or best wait for the video rental.
Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012)
Beast
This movie is a beast.Everything is so perfect. This should won an Oscar for Best Director and For best Screenplay.Otherwise I am not gonna believe the Oscar ceremony never.it touches me emotionally and I was so amazed that its the best movie i have ever seen..there could be a lot things to say about it,but i am out of words..perfection in cinematic language..ma all good wishes to the team of this movie..what i love about this movie is the little actress when she cries and her trauma around here, and the dialogue about 'i am dying here and people buying groceries" kinda..this shocks me completely and realized how the world is so different and so mean.i love the movies perspective told from the point of view of that child.this film is so beautiful.
Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (2013)
Good Attempt
Well to summarize it,lets get back to the recent Bollywood movies this year and in 2012.one line--they suck. Stop Making bullshit movies Bollywood.i started boycott these Hindi cinema movies, not because I am a usual Hollywood freak, but i think creative(feeling pain by using this term)people in this part of the world are not making sense and i cant help when i have to patiently wait for good cinema in Hindi and being born in this rich cultural heritage(love being an Indian)we don't have good stories in Hindi, but yeah, this one is exception.
There are only three directors according to me in this industry who are trying hard and they are Raj Kumar Hirani, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Anurag Kashyap.period/. Now they too have a history of putting us down in some rare occasions.I will get to Vishal in this post..i loved his work on Maqbool and it grab ma attention but after a few stints,Kamine was boring and sad.and i thought Vishal lost it. i was not sure of going to this movie.but luckily i went.Well what i saw was Good piece of cinema, the dialect and every scene has an aura.the music was awesome and was not dragging and other stuff, thanks for the music too.o boy Charlie and one romantic song in which folk was created are ma favorites.i was lost completely in these songs..
The greatest part of the movie was the philosophy told by the filmmaker about the malls culture, the big factories and the people and the trade.i mean this was new and justified creatively and makes one think of the current scenario of this country.
Acting department- Pankaj Kapoor is legend, and this movie solely depends on his character.well he did complete justice to his role,Shabana played a marvelous part too but was not given proper character development at the end of the movie.Anusuka is awesome talent too,her role completely defines the magnum opus whenever Mr.Pankaj and her are on the scene..now for Imran,i felt sorry.this guy didn't understood the importance of his role.its a meaty role and easily make u climb in the ladder of an good actor but he is the only disappointing factor in this movie.the kid is new on the block and a relative of Aamir(who is turning as a big loser with Ta lash) who also is a great actor.i wished his role would be given to the likes of Irfaan khan. The only thing supports him is the dialog's and the other actors performances which makes us tolerate him..well Vishal could have kick him out of the project.Vishal aren't u taking workshop with this guy.and what happen to screen test. Are these process not happening in this industry? p.s--What i admired in this movie is the dialect of all the actors, except Imran who was really not getting it. Vishal scored big-time with his movie and hope we will not see his downfall.i wish he makes the movie in his trademark style because we love him for it.he didn't tried anything new, well obviously he had a command on the UP,Haryana flair and the dialog's he had written for it were awesome.i think if the screen presence of Mr.Pankaj Kapoor could be lessened a bit because it was again kinda getting repetitive and justifying Ur point by giving all the character development to a protagonist. and a one man show for me which is so typical of Indian cinema.but now the barometer is set up by the director and the editor to this industry in his own ways..hope everyone learn and take the good side of film making which was delivered by the director
go for this movie for witty dialog's,Pankaj Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj
Life of Pi (2012)
Lost Maself completely
For me,The very aspect of an good cinema is its emotional quotient, the story, cinematography, and last but not least ,the direction..very few films reach a certain level but this film completely surpass it..every aspect of this film is outstanding. the film is intriguing and has lot of substance.i loved the other aspect, that the movie"S background is Indian but the director worked hard for making its global appeal visible and no doubt he succeeded in it. completely forgot myself in that process and enjoyed the journey of this young boy..haven't read the book but i hope the film is on par levels of the print medium.Thanking the screenplay writer, novelist and the director of this epic.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Disappointed
Went for the first day first show of dark knight rises. Well to conclude the heading, I am highly disappointed and creatively unjustified by this movie. Being a fan of this franchise and equally supported fan of director Christopher Nolan, whose work had been astounding and Analytical till so far.. i have always loved the philosophical part of his cinema, the character building, the conflict and the grey and the dark matters which he portrayed in his movies.i always loved the part of the antagonist of his movies and building the drama, but in dark knight rises i thought he lost his way.bane is just a typecast Hollywood villain who will definitely lose to batman and like joker(heath Ledger) the depth of the role was not at all there. secondly, the movie seems like made in hurry to conclude all possible points and way down you don't attach to anybody.am not talking about editing here but in general the story which is not fascinating enough to the epic conclusion of the film.i mean why a reputed director will complete the franchise for the sake of completing. Well its not a very bad movie at all, better than all usual action flicks of Hollywood.one time watch for me but an average which is not expected from Chris Nolan. He had repeated the same shots and the thrill which were present in Inception finally the casting of Joseph Gordon which got the role probably because of good terms with the director and the inclusion of Marion Cotillard who just didn't suits the role. There are a few plot holes but will not mention them,i maybe sounding like a retard critic but this is surely not for me.
Memoirs of a Geisha (2005)
pathetic film but an good book
ma girlfriend gave me this book because she loved it,i understood that it has the emotional quotient of a girls mentality and i respect that but i found a few loopholes in it:- 1.why the chairman was not bidding for sayuri"s virginity as he seems caring to her..the girl was just 15..what the hell was he thinking? 2.nobu was an impulsive character mentioned in the book,he keep complaining to sayuri that she chooses the wrong daana and cut himself up and at the end when sayuri slept with the minister which he knows that by his business partner(chairman)..he just went away..how come? 3.the Americans were showed in the good light in the novel even when they dropped the nuclear bombs at that time in their two major cities..OK the writer is American i guess..? but overall the novel was 70%good because it creates the conflict and described a life of a giesha in a detailed manner..also the emotional quoitient was very much i liked.
talking about movie..it was a complete failure,it seems to me that the director wants to move forward the story in a quick sucession.okey the locales were good but the characters were not defined properly nor did their conflict..the army general part was not shown in the movie..and from the start i didn't connect to it..it could been a mini television series which i think would have done justice to the novel not an movie where emotions were exagraated...i also disappointed by steven Spielberg who produced this movie..what was he thinking?i think a novelist must b in a film team when his work is made up to a movie which i think was not here in that case
