Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (2010)
a little advancement in part on the movies
Finished watching this movie for the first in an imax theatre or maybe they all are anyways the movie did its best to be honest to the book still steve kloves can't help but jump around as many scenes as he can even though the movie is 2 and a half hours long and the screenplay by steve kloves is good he should focus more time and effort acting was a s good as usual and of course laughs flying around the theatre whenever rupert grint would crack a funny one it also has some mature scenes of advancement such as hermione and harry dancing in the tent and when ron is trying to destroy the horcrux and in that horcrux he sees his worst fears it was definitely a good time in the theatre the movie does seem to slow down a little on certain scenes and then rush on others but im a die-hard harry potter fan and it was worth the trouble to get to see this movie
The Killer (2006)
very nice remake
I really enjoyed this movie every scene is worth watching even though every scene is cleanly copied from collateral it has its unique style of Indian blend so if this the idea was Indian well people would say it is an original Indian movie it is a very decent remake of collateral most Indian movies aren't very good remakes usually when they are based upon American movies and now for the acting emraan hashmi is a little goofy even though he does a good job i have to say for irfan khan his character is actually portrayed even more deadly than collateral's tom cruise and he has done a very good seemingly because his character is more developed than that of emraan hashmi overall 8/10 is the rating i give it because it establishes its own unique style on the movie being a remake.
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
waste
I wonder why people are making such a big hype for this movie it's really boring and it's not scary at all and it is so difficult to understand what's going on in this movie where's the witch where's the scare one wonders after watching 39 minutes of the first movie with simply mindless dialogue of these three friends arguing with each other i almost gave up but wanted to keep watching because people said such good things about this movie i was expecting something along the lines of Eli Roth's cabin fever but this was depressing even the money and the marketing that went into this movie is a waste it's not even much of a movie or at least it's not shot in that format for those of you who don't believe me watch it for yourself it's not satisfying.
Devil (2010)
impressive job
I'm not very familiar with m shyalam's work but this was impressive maybe in our lives bad stuff does happen to us because we made the decisions that landed us there that is the whole point of this story it's amazing at one point you are feeling sorry for the people trapped in the elevator next you are learning about the metaphorical circumstances that landed them there this is nice work and direction and screenplay the movie does a decent job in scaring you but i guess people are looking for a light-hearted comedy like the easy way or the michael douglas movie wall street but this should defifniely be given a chance.
Titanic (1997)
pretty good
I saw this movie last night on tbs and I have to say I was impressed
throughout my lifetime i never gave this movie a chance I always had the DVD lying there and eventually I moved I would see my mom watching it when I was 5 years old which is when it came out I have to admit the hype around this movie is acceptable finally last night though
i kept watching it till the end both actors Caprio and Winslet
have done a great job it's even pretty touching in some parts amazing
how much money went into making this movie it was worth it the
direction the epic scenes of watching Winslet and Caprio trying to survive throughout the whole ordeal was fun to watch I highly recommend this movie to those who haven't seen it.
Paanch (2003)
not anurag kashyap's best
I expected to see a rather dangerous thriller but it was a very tame attempt at one by Mr.Kashyap it was difficult to get my hands on this movie because it was blocked by the censor boards so I ended up seeing it online but I was disappointed the thriller wasn't as dark as was advertised there are some decent scenes mostly involving Kay Kay menon but a great director like anurag kashyap who has given us movies like black Friday and no smoking really should have worked harder at his script as this was his first directorial attempt the character pondi is really annoying mostly a tame dialogue based movie of 5 drug addicts who for the sake of money attempt a fake kidnapping but things don't go as planned. It's an interesting story but Mr.Kashyap can do better.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
a harry potter movie with the light moments
I just watched this movie in theatres last night and I have to say it is filled more with comedy and light moments than any Harry potter movie but that's only because this is meant to be a lightly entertaining movie the acting was very good by most Tom Felton's role without a doubt had to capture your interest as you watch the movie this movie skips a lot that happens in the book but it makes you laugh as well the scene in the climax is most dramatic in the movie I kind of wish that they would be honest to the books seeing as how the 4th and 5th movies were very rushed the film also has a lt of wity dialogues that made the audience and my self laugh out loud when I walked out of the theater I kind of wished that Harry Potter wpuld never be over but all things come to an end and eventually will the Harry Potter series but definitely go watch this movie it is definitely worth it.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
dunno why i didn't like this movie at first
This in my opinion is the best Quentin Tarantino movie ever I have to admit I don't know what was wrong with me that I didn't like this movie at first really don't know what was wrong with me maybe the scenes are slowly detailed but this movie has the best dialogues a really good concept people like the simplicity of this movie that is why this is so good and it's emphasis alone on dialogues and the fact that this movie was made in a really simple time Quentin Tarantino with his best friend Roger Avary managed to do something different something new which makes this movie far better than Kill Bill Vol.1 or Reservoir Dogs those movies don't have what Pulp Fiction has that is why this movie is so good.
The Usual Suspects (1995)
A movie you definitely couldn't see just once
It truly is an amazing movie after watching it you will feel you want to watch it all over again get haunted by the same scenes understand those scenes which form this movie into a puzzle of a thriller even though this story is supposed to explain what happened on a boat it slowly turns into a story about a criminal mastermind Keyser Soze who could be behind the chaos that happened at that boat but the really great thing is that he is a legend a spook story but something that is mentioned throughout the movie with the possibility of existing Kevin Spacey is really great in his role Direction by Bryan Singer is also good most of the actors although experienced look like jokers compared to Kevin Spacey and Chazz Palminetri otherwise it is a really good movie and if you haven't seen it then you haven't seen a mive which truly is the definition of a thriller.
Disclosure (1994)
a good movie but lukewarm compared to it's remake
Although this is an interesting concept to take upon for it's time period when this movie came out in 1994 the fact that you could be sexually harassed by a woman seemed impossible even tough nowadays things like these can be likely and as for the acting well it seems that Demi Moore is a very attractive and has done justice or herself although she could have put in a bit of an effort into her acting Michael Douglas also does a pretty good job but again this is a story where it could be Oscar material with the right bit of acting Barry Levin son's direction is above average everything in this movie is very good even Dennis Miller i was surprised to find who is a popular radio celebrity now played a short role although a good movie however it's remake Aitraaz had more scope overall worth a watch.
Dil Se.. (1998)
How did Mani Ratnam come up with this?
This movie was very good the two characters who love each other do so under difficult circumstances a story about a radio executive Amarkanth Verma who meets a beautiful revolutionary Meghna both Sharukh Khan and Manisha Koirala play their roles wonderfully Sharukh Khan's character really pursues this woman and the way he deeply feels about her she on the other hand is to commit a deadly mission but she also deeply deeply loves him a story of love and death the song Ae Ajnabi couldn't portray both characters feelings any stornger nonetheless it is a good movie and for those people who say it is confusing there is really nothing confusing about Dil Se.
Love in the Time of Cholera (2007)
There is no love story like this one
I loved everything about this movie it is truly remarkable how strongly Florentino Ariza played wonderfully by Javier Bardem who I have admired from his role In No country for old men he does a superb job in invoking his emotions the actress who plays Fermina Daza is also very good deep inside both characters love each other very much but it is a story of time how time brings them apart and then together again as for the novel I haven't read it but it is easy to say that it is in Mike Newell's nature to rush movies that he bases on novels when i watched the Harry Potter movies i felt that way but this movie is the King of all love stories shot in beautiful South America it is a must see.
Anwar (2007)
Anwar...hmmmm....Anwar
What should i say about this movie it is only the fact that it is a love story disguised it's about a Muslim man who is in love with a woman who in turn actually never loved him in reality perspective people would just say to anwar that he should get over her and find somebody else but they don't realize what a complicated matter love really can be and well that is the love that anwar feels for this woman mehru the beauty of it is the story of anwar one thing that I was curious about is Anwar's fascination of hindu temples despite being a Muslim if he's a Muslim he should abide in his traditions although his fasciantion is quite alright the songs of this movie are really good a well made movie about love stories combined and a few haunting scenes this movie is worth a see for someone who is really a romantic and understands the beauty of love and love stories.
The Dark Knight (2008)
A little extreme but very good
When you watch this movie it succeeds in not disappointing you thanks mainly to Heath Ledger's performance he simply brings life to his ever acclaimed character the joker Christian Bale is also good as well as many other actors it is really the stunning script from the Nolan brothers and of course the superb direction of Christopher Nolan although I have to say this movie is too heavy in emotions and it also has one fatal flaw which apparently all successful batman movies have the inner conflict that the character the superhero faces within himself that has got to stop in these movies then it would be really good overall you have to admit there is movie like this one.
