Boogeyman (2005)
Apparently, filmmakers have forgotten what it means to be a good scary movie
Recently, there has been a flourish of PG-13 horror movies that obviously appeal to the high school demographic and bring in the big bucks, and frankly, it's getting a little tiring. What all of these movies have in common is the style of film-making where something jumps out onto the screen every couple of minutes, and tries to get the audience to jump out of their seat. Does it work? Admittedly, I am startled occasionally, but that doesn't make it a good scary movie. A good scary movie is something that keeps me in suspense because I am scared for the characters and am interested in what will happen next. In Boogeyman, they use loud noises and flashing images to get the audience to jump, and it's one of the most annoying experiences that I can say I have in the theatre. If more horror movies come out in the near future, and I'm 100 percent positive we're going to see a truckload of them, I hope they at least have some sort of story. If you like paying 8-10 dollars to be startled, fork your money over to me and i'll follow you around for 2 hours and yell "boo!" in your ear, cause if you keep paying to see these movies, they're going to keep making them. I'm guilty of my own complaint, but I hadn't read reviews before I saw it, don't make the same mistake. Like in Minority Report, "you know your own future, which means you can change it if you want to. You can choose" Choose to stay away from this piece of garbage.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
More than meets the eye
Most of the time when I see a movie that has been so completely hyped beyond disbelief the movie turns out to be a disappointment, For Pulp Fiction, this definitely wasn't the case. From the very beginning I was captivated with the dialog and felt that I couldn't turn my head away because I had to see what was going to happen next. John Travolta and Sam Jackson give their best performances ever; watching them together is a real treat. The greatest part of this movie though is seeing how the movie rewinds and shows something going on in a different perspective. Everything in this film is brilliant and shouldn't be missed. One movie that actually lives up to the hype. Even if you've seen it once and didn't like it, watch it once more just to make sure.

See Arnold Run (2005)
Painful to watch...
I started watching this a little ways in and the whole thing is just ridiculous. Granted, the whole story of Arnold Schwarzenegger is ridiculous, albeit I'm a fan of his, the movie is just silly. Early on we get a chance to see "Gary Coleman" who is clearly a normal sized man sitting on his knees to make him look like the same size as Gary. Things like this go to show how stupid this thing really is.
The one plus side is Roland Kickinger who finally gets a serious role. He was pretty funny in Son of the Beach, which is also ridiculous, but I was hoping to get a chance to see him again in something. He's not a horrible actor but he's not incredible either which makes him perfect to play Arnold.
