1-2-3-Go! (1941)
1-2-3- Go (1941)
What a great learning tool for young children. Mickey gets run over by a car when he runs into the street chasing a ball.Spanky and the Gang are upset and realize the situation could have been avoided. They then form the 1-2-3 Go society. The 1-2-3 Go society is aimed at teaching children to look both ways before crossing the street. This Our Gang short teaches young children it also allows young children the perils of chasing a ball into the street. The main character is Mikey (Robert Blake). Mikey survives the accident with a broken leg. A great Our Gang short for children to watch. I highly recommend this Our Gang short as a tool in teaching young children. Its funny this is one Our Gang short I remember very well.
Land of the Dead (2005)
Sad Day In Deadland (Spoiler)
Let me start off by saying I really REALLY wanted to like this film. I have been a die-hard Romero fan and have stood my ground in defending him as the best horror movie director of all time. This movie just flushed my argument down the toilet. This movie was, by far, garbage. (((SPOILERS))) The CGI was terrible. I was more impressed with the zombies acting and the makeup in DotD then I was 20 years later in LotD. I actually kinda enjoyed the smart zombie concept. It was an interesting twist. Secondly, there was absolutely no character development in this movie at all. I do not like or dislike any of the characters enough to care who lived or who died. Third I felt that the end was very rushed and extremely flawed. One second there are a million zombies on every street running all over the town, then when the tank enters the town there is nothing but a whole group of living people going to escape the city in good spirits. Ohh and when they have a chance to kill a large amount of zombies they decide that zombies have rights also and need a place to go..... Just like us. I could be mistaken but aren't they running the whole damn earth? So why wouldn't you take them out? Very bad movie, poor script, poor acting, and very very flawed. The only redeeming thing is George hasn't lost his touch in the gore department.
The Village (2004)
Bad Bad Bad
This was by far one of the worst movies I have ever watched. I received this movie as a present from my girlfriend who is terrified of scary movies. We sat and watched the movie from beginning to end in complete boredom. At the end of the movie she turned to me and apologized for buying such a "cruddy" movie. This movie is a total miss. The creatures are not scary, the visuals are not scary, and the atmosphere is not scary. The plot is very predictable and the story line is completely unbelievable. (I'm sorry a blind girl is not going to be able to make her way through the woods and into a town with no help) I score this movie a 1 out of 10 and may God have mercy on M. Night Shyamalan soul for putting this cruddy movie on the big screen.
