Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
The Last Force Rises.
A solid C is the best and or worst this film deserves. Was it a fitting end for THIS trilogy of Star Wars?? Perhaps. Was it visually the most stunning out of the saga? You bet. However, that doesn't make up for the plot inconsistencies and the poor storytelling. These characters had real potential, but they were unfortunately way underutilized. But as always, just see it for yourself. You be the judge!
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Gang Goes to Hell: Part Two (2016)
Beautiful.
Previous reviewer, I respect your subjective views on this episode and the whole season, but I just want to say I disagree with you. I mean, c'mon man, you rated X-Men Origins 10/10.
Season 11 started off strong and ended on an amazing note that I thought this show could never, WOULD ever pull off. Who doesn't like callbacks? And they only did it once(going to the "welfare store" and Dennis+Dee smoking crack), 10 years later. I don't think they're running out of ideas. It's more like showing the fans love. Near the end of this episode, I was hit in the feels.
**SPOILERS** The gang was about to drown and they all joined hands to perish together. It was absolutely beautiful. I never thought a show full of satire/dark humor could make me tear up. Of course, satirical humor occurs in the aftermath, which is right up to speed with the show. This could've been a perfect series finale if the show ended, but with 3 more seasons on deck, I can not wait until what Rob, Glenn and Charlie has in store for us.
TL;DR This bottle episode was awesome and I highly recommend Season 11.
American Dad!: A Star Is Reborn (2015)
"Even if we don't spend all our time together, we're gonna spend all OF time together."
Beautiful.
This episode is all about reincarnation, and it is done very brilliantly. Something I thought American Dad was never capable of. I'm not really a religion person, more spiritual. I believe that life is a cycle and our souls carry on to the next life. Sounds crazy yeah, that's because I AM crazy and don't really care what anyone thinks about what I believe in. Life is a circle, and it is the Circle of Life; Lion King circa 1994.
Whoever is saying the show dropped in quality after the move to TBS, can go spend all OF time touching themselves. If there is one episode that can get your hopes up again, it's this one. No decapitated heads or super violent deaths makes this one of the best of season 11, and one of my personal favorites. Also, this episode contains probably the most heartfelt, profound, warm moment between Stan and Francine. I can't remember the last time American Dad made me go "Awwwwwwwww". The side plot is pretty funny too.
So.....check this one out AD fans and non AD fans alike!
Dexter (2006)
Brilliant.
Dexter is one of those shows that if it only aired for a season or two (speaking of the first two seasons specifically), it would've amassed into a huge cult following. Regardless, each season of Dexter provides a unique experience that any one would enjoy. Michael C. Hall as the show's lead is amazing and seeing his character development throughout the series is a struggle within himself and even the viewers. Each episode has the viewer questioning morality and the criminal justice system in general. All I can say is, if you haven't checked out this show, please be warned that the first episode will instantly lead into a 12 hour binge. On my 18th birthday, my friend and I completed the first two seasons in 1 sitting (24 hours). Needless to say, I was instantly hooked. You will see a lot of complaints and criticism about the show's progression, but overall as a whole, it is still great. So take a slice out of your life and check out this amazing Showtime series!
