The mask and collectible makers at Trick or Treat Studios have given sneak previews of many of the new masks that will be part of their 2024 product line-up, including revivals of Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees masks from the ’80s and ’90s and masks of Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric’s characters David and Michael from Joel Schumacher’s 1987 vampire classic The Lost Boys (watch it Here)! An image of these masks can be seen at the bottom of this article.
Scripted by Janice Fischer, Jeffrey Boam, and James Jeremias, The Lost Boys has the following synopsis: Teenage brothers Michael and Sam move with their mother to a small town in northern California. While the younger Sam meets a pair of kindred spirits in geeky comic-book nerds Edward and Alan, the angst-ridden Michael soon falls for Star — who turns out to be in thrall to David, leader of a local gang of vampires.

Patrick Wilson is no stranger to the horror genre, having starred in the likes of three Conjuring movies and three Insidious movies (one of which he directed), among other things – but I never would have predicted that his name would be attached to a stage musical adaptation of Joel Schumacher’s 1987 vampire classic The Lost Boys (watch it Here). Especially not as a producer. But producing a The Lost Boys stage musical is exactly what Wilson is doing, according to Deadline.
Wilson and fellow producers James Carpinello and Marcus Chait are teaming up with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia writer/executive producer David Hornsby, Parade director Michael Arden, and the pop rock band The Rescues to make this stage musical happen, through a special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures. Hornsby will be writing the book with Broadway actor Chris Hoch, while The Rescues provide the music and Ethan Popp...

The lost boys in J.M. Barrie's book, "Peter Pan" are just that — lost. They spend their days playing and getting into mischief with Peter Pan, the ultimate lost boy who guides them in their tomfoolery. The children are always young, so their idealistic charms and innocence have yet to be ravaged by the pains of adolescence. The only woman they desire is that of their own mother, and even though they are by many accounts, little rascals, they are still lovable little boys.
If you are unfamiliar with the 1987 vampire flick, "The Lost Boys," it can be a bit of a head-scratcher then, to find that the film — not the film's Peter Pan inspiration — is the first thing to pop up in a google search for the name. This is made especially more scandalous when you realize that "The Lost Boys" is not about young children looking to fulfill their maternal desires,...

“Good night, bloodsucker!” This year, Joel Schumacher’s 1987 vampire classic The Lost Boys is marking its 35th anniversary. In a new interview to commemorate the occasion, Entertainment Weekly gathered Alex Winter (vampire Marko) and the vampire-slayin’ Frog Brothers, Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander, who all reminisced fondly on behind-the-scenes tales and the movie’s cultural context and, yes, the sax player.
Considering when the movie came out, it may be no surprise there was quite a bit of partying. As Winter noted that “things got really dark in the late ‘80s”, saying, “The party overstayed its welcome, basically. [But during] Lost Boys everything was still firing on all cylinders and it was a fucking madhouse.” Feldman blamed the older cast members, which says something considering Feldman has been open about his drug use.
Interestingly, Corey Feldman considers The Lost Boys “a family film”, “something that Joel was always very cognizant of. And...

Saginaw Grant, the esteemed Native American character actor known for turns in The Lone Ranger, The World’s Fastest Indian and more, died on Wednesday at a private care facility in Hollywood, California. He was 85.
Grant’s publicist and longtime friend, Lani Carmichael, confirmed his death to the Associated Press, saying that he died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes.
The actor was born July 20, 1936, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, amassing nearly 60 credits in film and TV, starting in the late 1980s. The first film he appeared in was Franc Roddam’s 1988 action drama War Party, which starred Billy Wirth, Kevin Dillon and more.

“One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach … All the damn vampires.”
-Grandpa (Barnard Hughes), The Lost Boys
I respectfully disagree with Grandpa’s sentiment. My favorite part about watching the faux coastal fantasia of Santa Carla is all the damn vampires. Despite being very much a time capsule capturing a certain place and cultural moment, The Lost Boys is simultaneously, a bit paradoxically, as immortal as its titular teenage vampires when it comes to being a genre staple. The 1987 horror comedy was helmed by the late great Joel Schumacher, who passed away on June 22nd. It is being celebrated today ahead of its return to Southern California theaters this Thursday at the Mission Tiki Drive-In, on a double bill with that other terrific ’80s vampire horror comedy, Fright Night (1985). It’s hard to articulate just how special and singular The Lost Boys is, but I have to try.

"If you don't change your position, I can't protect you..." Vision Films has debuted an official trailer for an action thriller titled Eternal Code, the latest film made by Swedish actor / filmmaker Harley Wallen. A genetic research company creates a revolutionary invention to sustain life, but can only finish developing it through illegal methods. When the CEO pulls the plug and steps away from their original deal she quickly realizes they will stop at nothing to get it back. Her family is kidnapped, and their daughter works to figure out a way to save them from those who "would kill to live forever." Starring Scout Taylor-Compton as a merc, plus Erika Hoveland, Billy Wirth, Harley Wallen, Angelina Danielle Cama, Yan Birch, Mel Novak, Kaiti Wallen, and Damien Chinappi. This looks terribly generic and bland, but it's free to look. Here's the full-length official trailer (+ poster) for Harley Wallen's Eternal Code,...

"Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire." Earlier this year, it was reported that The CW ordered a pilot episode for a potential The Lost Boys series based on the 1987 horror movie of the same name, and now the roles of Sam Emerson and his grandpa have been cast.
Deadline reports that Rio Mangini (pictured above in Everything Sucks!) will play Sam in The Lost Boys pilot episode, with Del Zamora on board to play Sam's grandfather, Frank Garcia.

"Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire." Back in 2016, it was reported that The CW was developing a TV series based on The Lost Boys, the beloved 1987 horror comedy about boardwalk bloodsuckers and young vampire hunters. While the news front on the project has been quiet over the past couple of years, it's now been revealed that The CW has ordered a pilot episode of the potential The Lost Boys series, in addition to pilot episodes for three other projects.
Deadline reports that The CW has ordered a Lost Boys pilot episode written by Heather Mitchell. Rob Thomas (iZombie and Veronica Mars) had previously been developing The Lost Boys series, and he'll serve as executive producer alongside Mitchell, Dan Etheridge, Mike Karz, and Bill Bindley, with Rebecca Franko on board as a producer.

Independent filmmaker Harley Wallen, whose film Bennett’s Song was something of a surprisingly sweet old-shool family film, is back both in front of and behind the camera for Betrayed – a film that rips its story straight from the headlines to create a thriller that deals with Russian involvement in Us politics, missing persons and sex traffiking.
The plot goes something like this: in an effort to control the city the Mayor of Detroit opens the doors to the Russian Mob (bad idea). It’s not long until he realizes they aren’t going to follow his rules, instead kidnapping women and traffiking them for sex. To fix the problem the Mayor (John Savage) accepts an offer to set up the...

With the highly-anticipated horror Death House being released in cinemas on 23rd February 2018, I got a chance to speak with actor Yan Birch about the legacy of People Under the Stairs (1991), his character in Death House and hanging out with friends on the set.
How did you first get into acting?
My father was in the business in Sweden. Mostly Cabarets and Comedy shows. He was also a musician, so I grew up in a very creative arts environment. I started with music and then moved on to hosting a TV-Show in my teens. Then it continued from there.
You have had various roles over your career, but you are best known for your performance the Stairmaster from People Under the Stairs (1991). Did you think that the character would still be so popular over 25 years later?
I had no idea that anything like this would happen… I did know anything...

“Kill your brother. You’ll feel better.” Such is the self-assured advice of Mr. Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander), one-half of the Frog Brothers, the Santa Carla vampire-killing duo from Joel Schumacher’s 1987 glampire flick, The Lost Boys. He is addressing Sam (Corey Haim), the new kid in town who has noticed his brother Michael (Jason Patric) suffering some very strange symptoms, including staying up late at night, showing a translucent reflection, and having the ability to uncontrollably float past Sam’s room.
Equipped with little more than two fingers slapped together in a makeshift crucifix, Sam is clearly in over his head. Thankfully, the Frog Brothers are more than happy to impart on Sam their collective wisdom on vampires, which you might also know as night crawlers, bloodsuckers, or even el vampiro. Their overzealous need to share this knowledge would be right at home in a horror convention, because at their core,...

“Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It’s fun to be a vampire.” The CW is looking to tap into the fun and frightening concoction of Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys, as they are developing a TV series based on the beloved film.
Deadline broke the news about The Lost Boys TV series, which is being developed and written by Rob Thomas (iZombie, Veronica Mars) at The CW in conjunction with Gulfstream TV and Warner Bros Television.
According to Deadline, the series is being planned by Thomas as a massive seven-season story that would follow an immortal group of vampires (the Lost Boys) as they live through the triumphs and tribulations of each decade. Each season would be set in a new decade, with the debut season expected to take place in San Francisco circa 1967.

Feeling wide awake while asleep, she can't move... and she's not alone. Anna Parker's sleep paralysis strikes with a supernatural slant in Echoes, the feature film writing and directing debut of Nils Timm. With Echoes now available on Blu-ray and DVD from Anchor Bay Entertainment, we had a chance to talk with Timm, who discussed taking a unique approach to the haunted house sub-genre, portraying the different social masks people wear in real life, his personal brush with sleep paralysis during filming, and much more.
What attracted you to the subject of sleep paralysis?
Nils Timm: Before I wrote Echoes, I was researching a lot of stories about lucid dreaming. I was experimenting with that a little bit myself, read everything about it, and interviewed several people in circles of friends and colleagues about this. At least one out of every six or seven people would say, ‘Yes,...

Sales agent Archstone Distribution has taken the supernatural thriller Echoes to the American Film Market. This horror title deals with sleep paralysis and spirits, which can take over a dreamer's body. A trailer for Echoes was released for this film, last week. This film fan missed the debut and others might have as well. Echoes stars Billy Wirth (Lost Boys), Kate French (Fired Up!), Steven Brand and Steve Hanks. A preview of this film is hosted here. In the trailer, Anna (French) takes refuge in an isolated home. Here, she hopes to overcome her fears of sleep. But, her sleep-paralysis only worsens, in this barren landscape. Spirits emerge in the night and Anna must gather help from the locals, to overcome a supernatural element. Anchor Bay Entertainment will release this title in 2015. Fans of horror will not have to wait long to see Anna confront the netherworld. Release Date: 2015. Director: Nils Timm.

Bizarre AC II took place June 13-15 at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, and Dread Central went down-the-shore to check it out! Here's our event report plus an overflowing image gallery.
Having traveled to different conventions across the country, I am always searching for that old-school vibe I felt back in the 90’s. I would go to every NYC Weekend of Horrors starting at the age of 14 with my horror-loving father, Joseph Buckley (a man who used to buy Don Post Frankenstein masks from Famous Monsters to scare the kids with in the Heights of Jersey City but would not get the Monster inked on him while in the Navy because he thought it would upset his dad).
Bizarre AC II had that feeling… the feeling of the old ways, the old time when horror was new and everything you saw was not readily available from an online chain store.
