Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The ending of missing Ichabod Crane can be frightening.
  • Ichabod's ride home in the dark forest as he anticipates the possibility of running into the Headless Horseman may be quite an intense scene for younger or sensitive children. There are quite a few false alarms where the trees take on the shape of ghostly figures making Ichabod scream which add to the tension, and the Headless Horseman eventually appears at a point where Ichabod decides there is nothing to be afraid of which could be a jumpscare moment for some viewers.
  • Bing Crosby's final line of narration at the end of the film is 'Man, I'm getting outta here!' which while tongue in cheek, may not be a relief to those who may have been frightened by the final segment.
  • The last shot of the Headless Horsemen may intimidate some viewers, as he holds a burnt skull which happens to be the head of Ichabod Crane.
