Angel : Surprise , Socio !!!
suvechhabose6 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ahhh where to start So many things going on ... Deb is really great at provoking Dex , love the ideas how sometimes she's funny and sometimes its just heart wrenching when she's guilt tripping him. The whole cast is perfect , everybody's doing a great job. The audio references are a great touch. If you compare Dexter and ongoing Dexter new blood its just mesmerizing how things have changed but Dex is still the same! *Dogs barking , "yep. Still got it" !

Please do bring another season no matter what happens, cause characters are from different backgrounds so it can be made beautifully . The unpredictability is what this show needs!

Angel you beauty Thanks alot for bringing him back.

Felt like the old Dexter episodes
Dannyboi948 December 2021
The first 4 episodes were a little slow, not much happened aside from some character development. But this episode ramps things up real fast. It felt like the old classic Dexter episodes; Dexter on the hunt, stalking his next victim, outsmarting the police, staging crime scenes - ah, it was glorious. Not to mention a sweet cameo that appears halfway through the episode. I couldn't have been the only one that cheered. I wasn't expecting the revelation at the end to happen so soon. It feels like the next five episodes are going to move the story a little fast. I hope this isn't a one off season, because it feels like there is still more story to tell. Another season or 2 should be enough.

Great episode.

The bomb that will cause Dexter Morgan's downfall has started to tick
blndbahaden5 December 2021
This episode was by far the absolute best episode of new blood and one of the best of the whole show for that matter. This episode contained more excitement, tension, edge of the seat moments than most 2 hour thriller movies could ever contain and that's because of the humongous amount of time things have been building up. This is not even the end we have 5 more episodes left and if they are as good as this or somehow better than this then this will go down in history as one of the few masterpieces in tv history. If you haven't seen this masterpiece of an episode go and see it right now and if you have you most probably are feeling the same way as I do.

feels so good having Dexter back
mahtab_na5 December 2021
It is just getting better and better. Can anyone say goodbye to Dex? Like ever?

The scene with Dexter commenting on the wallpaper cracked me up. The only serial killer I can relate to on many levels!

The episode was hands down the best so far.

WOW! JUST WOW!

Things are getting interesting. What an episode, masterpiece!

I was skeptical when this show started.

Finally Original Dexter vibe now I can say a sequel to the series isnt farce. This was needed for any Dexter fan out there.

"Cute Kid"
CulvertonSmith5 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
From episode one we know that everything is going to go wrong for Dexter, and this episode masterfully teases us with just how that will happen. I wasn't quite sure where it was going at first, but it just got better and better, leaving me absolutely enthralled by the end. That obituary!!! The new serial killer is proving to be quite compelling and unique, Harrison and his relationship with Dexter feels accurate and authentic, and Angela is a really solid character to follow. Halfway through and I'm loving the new season, can't wait for next week!

Best Episode So Far!
revieweranarchy755 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this episode from start to finish. Everything about it was amazing, and I honestly need to say that seeing Batista return had me shook! I really hope discovers dexter is still alive and then quinn and masuka make an appearance when that happens as well. Would help tie up those loose ends and then it would be nice! Loving it so far!

Dexter New Blood is back on track
eunbi05307 December 2021
After the last two lukewarm episodes, episode 5 comes with a bang. To be honest, I do not think Harrison is as street smart as he claims to be, specially when he takes drugs just because he is feeling rebellious/angry towards his dad, it screams more "I am spoiled" than "I am independent", Harrison is practically behaving just like Matt Caldwell. Also, shoutout to "freaking Logan", is not he an overachiever for such a small town cop? Kinda giving sgt. Doakes'; feelings, not to talk about the Chief of Police that is doing the same thing Deb used to do, I am not really sure how I feel about those two, but they are making things move forward.

One of the best things in this episode is seeing Angel again, I like his character so much, such a shame it feels like it will be just a cameo.

Contrived, bordering on ridiculous & way below writing standards of original show!
zacdawac6 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Dexter or Jim hides his identity for ten years and, suddenly, Angel Batista happens to show up at the same seminar as Jim's girlfriend at the same instant that Harrison reveals his secret to Angela's daughter. Dexter doesn't vet his victim, he doesn't carefully plan his kill, he makes his initial move right outside a bar in the middle of the day and he allows himself to be seen with his prospective victim, having a drink in the bar and on any cameras that might be in the vicinity. Intelligent, sensible Harrison takes drugs for the first time and is the only kid at the party to overdose. The nice, peaceful small town policeman is suddenly a vigilante.

Even if Angela, as chief of police, is stupid, ignorant and incompetent enough to need Angel to tell her that the young girls who had been going missing in her town for over ten years indicated a pattern, Dexter would have figured it out, the first time he heard about the cases. Dexter was always six steps ahead of Deb and nineteen steps ahead of Angel and the rest of Miami Metro.

Why did it take Angel a minute to remember Harrison's name? For the first five years of Harrison's life, Dexter and Deb were Angel's best friends. Angel's sister was also Harrison's nanny and she doubtlessly talked about him often, before and after he disappeared. And what did Miami Metro and everyone else in the lives of the Morgans, at the time, think happened to Harrison. A dying Debra's body disappeared from the hospital, Dexter drove his boat into a storm and was presumed dead but how was Harrison's sudden disappearance explained?

Everyone is google-able and everyone has documented records, in 2021. Dexter's picture was in the newspapers when his wife was murdered by the Trinity Killer, among other times. Shouldn't Molly, the podcast woman who studied killers, including Trinity, have seen Dexter's picture, at some point? And what about Angela's daughter, who unknowingly sent Harrison a picture of his mother and her killer? Why didn't she find Dexter's picture, too?

And what about Debra Morgan, who went from being one of the most compelling, appealing characters on a TV drama to being a whiny, annoying nag? Harry's ghost was Dexter's conscience, sounding board and voice of reason. Debra is just there to yell at Dexter and berate him.

The original Dexter was meticulously written and the stories and characters made perfect sense. I'm sorry to dispute the positive reviews but this show is all over the place. I'm still hanging in, hoping for something close to the show I loved.

Another great episode.
asterblasterth5 December 2021
Only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because I am starting to wonder why there is this Audrey character. I don't think the character adds anything to the show or story except for the big city girl coming to small town to play them to get what she needs because they're too ignorant. If the character wasn't there she wouldn't be missed for the story. In fact I think it would have been better if she wasn't there.

Anyway that's the only thing that was a bit off for me. The rest of it was great.

Hello, Dexter Morgan
leonthesleepy6 December 2021
My god this revival is everything i could have hoped for and more.

Dexter feels like how he did in the earlier seasons. Tethering on the edge of murder and lethal. Its clear that this season has been crafted with a lot of love.

There isn't any fat here at all. From people getting closer and closer to learning who "Jim" really is, to Dexter learning more about Harrison's true nature, to the interesting murder case in the background, every episode is paced so well.

All the side plots are interesting, and its shaping up to be one of the best seasons yet!

Feels like the Old Blood Dexter
mycannonball27 December 2021
This episode reminds me of the old Dexter series and I love the appearance of David Zayas. The drama with Dexter's girlfriend is well done. As things fall apart, they get even more interesting, but I hope this show doesn't end even more horribly for Dexter than the original series.

gotmetal-677615 December 2021
Best episode of the season thus far! Phenomenal story telling, with the original "Dexter" unexpected twists and turns, character development, and conflicts. This felt like the first episode, from beginning to end, that represented the authentic original Dexter storytelling. Very well done Clyde Phillips. I am ecstatic to watch how the story plays out!

An Angel Appears
douglasmcbroom6 December 2021
Just when I thought this series was headed for the abyss, Angel Batista appears. I wrote previously how much this relaunch missed the old cast. In my review of Dexter (the original series), I wrote that Angel was the best cop on the force and one great character. So, he showed up, and suddenly this series started to hit its stride. The tension returned; Dexter's inner monologue was funny again; and the plot commenced to thicken.

I still wish someone would kill Deb-again! And the blogger is annoying in the extreme, but halfway through, it looks like this new series might have found itself.

The walls are closing in, or are they?
mental-micky5 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Yet another great episode and things are starting to come together, or are they? The original series always threw a curveball into the mix, just when Dex's number was surely up and I can't help thinking there's one or two to come here!

Harrison almost OD's at a party given in his honour, Dex tracks down the drug dealer and eventually, the maker of the drugs. He attempts to get back to doing what he loves, but is interrupted both times by Officer Logan and has to improvise to get away. However this is really just a side-story for the episode.

Angela visits NYC with Molly to confirm Kurt's story that his son Matt was staying at a hotel there, it's revealed some random dude was pretending to be Matt. Kurt has some explaining to do...

While in NY Angela & Molly sit in on a law enforcement conference, given by none other than Angel Batista, it was great to see him again! Angel talks about the Bay Harbour Butcher murders and tenuous links that helped "solve" the case!

Angel and Angela also have a chat after his talk and inadvertedly puts Dex in it! Angela discovers Dex's fake identity and his link to Trinity and I've got a feeling it won't be long before her digging reveals a tenuous link with Dex and the Bay Harbour murders!!

Kurt is officially revealed as the "Runaway" killer and as Angela now knows he's been lying about his son being in NY, a confrontation between the two is on the cards - I have to wonder if Angela's demise at his hands will be Dex's saving grace?

Everything is so great except for Harrison
gedikreverdi6 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Harrison feels like and looks like Norman Bates from Bates Motel rather than Harrison Morgan and the actor who plays him is by far the worst actor in the show. Other than that, it feels really good to see Batista and Dexter's girlfriend knows he's not Jim and he's dead. I wish Dexter and Batista would go back to Miami and he'd be a blood splatter analyst again. Small towns aren't good for Dexter. He needs more predators to hunt.

Another Solid Episode
bbevis-479545 December 2021
I'm really looking forward to next weeks episode. Between the familiar face at the hotel and the complexity of the villains motivations I'm compelled to keep watching. Not to mention the final tease during the last minute. The Dexter vs Harrison stuff needs some work though. Every conversation starts off nice and quickly fades into Harrison storming out of the house. I don't feel like there is enough chemistry or interaction between Dexter and Harrison for me to care. The kill of the week drug dealer side story was rather boring in my opinion as well. I'm enjoying my time with the show so far and I hope the next few episodes focus on what works and makes what doesn't work better.

Improbable
ronfernandezsf11 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
No way could all this happen. Dexter had the drug maker all tied up and ready to kill. He hears the police right outside and in a matter of seconds, cleans up the room, dresses the druggy and moves him to another room and forces him to overdose, and hide. No way Jose! All that would have taken a good half hour, not seconds!!! Let's get real here!

so nervous
yunyy6 December 2021
I think dexter will be arrested in the finale by his girlfriend with Batista's help . S2 isn't coming but, dexter s2 should be 'prison break' dexter style and on the run doing what he needs to do. I miss Dexter so much, i enjoy watching this new Dexter. Plz reconsider doing s2 plz. Episode 5 is why Dexter can't tell any secrets to Harrison.
